Even if you give him the benefit of the doubt that the actual knee was unintentional (I don’t), he was still intentionally throwing his whole weight directly onto Hartenstein. You can see Embid pick up both feet and just drop his weight onto IHart. At his size, even a move like that could make someone’s knee buckle.
