No, 2004 was, and they would have made the Finals if Cassell hadn’t gotten hurt in the Conference Finals against the Lakers.

20 years ago seems like 5 years ago, but that team was amazing. 2004 didn't have the "big 3" philosophy that is almost required today. Super fun, I think if Cassel didn't go down MN would have beat LA, but it didnt happen.
This is a full team top to bottom, battle tested and proven to be able to win with Towns for about a month. This seems different, even if they don't go as far as the 04 team since if advancing they play Gru and his minions, which would be an insane series to watch.
