Is more Goode news coming for Indiana Basketball? | Indiana Hoosiers Podcast

Mike Woodson and the Indiana Hoosiers are hosting Illinois transfer Luke Goode. Goode would join Oumar Ballo, Myles Rice, and Kanaan Carlyle in a stacked transfer portal class if he chooses the Hoosiers. The 6 foot 7 forward shot 39 percent from three last season, and would boost the bench for Coach Woodson and his staff.

Jacob Goins updates you on the visit from Goode, and what he thinks will happen in his recruitment. The Hoosiers are still being praised for this haul in the portal, but what other Big Ten teams have made waves? Plus, some are saying the Hoosiers could be a top-25 team in preseason polls.

  1. Goode is a good get. His shooting numbers are outstanding, i just hope they stay about the same with a little more minutes

  2. Goode will pressure Galloway to produce. Who you want waiting in the corner more than Mbgako and Goode?

  3. If we have Goode and Mbgako are on opposite sides of the court we can kill the floating zones a ton of teams play. I got a feeling either Rice or Carlyle will turn out to be a good three-point shooter. Maybe Gallow's jumper might get better, a guy can hope. Gotta have another big to backup either Malone or the tall guy from Ukraine. Go Hoosiers, go.

  4. He is very Miller Kopp. Not much of a defender but he's a veteran and a high IQ guy.

Can we defend the 3 is still the question.

  5. If we can lock down Goode, all we'll need is someone to back up Ballo & Reneau. Given that Ballo averaged 26 minutes per game and Reneau has a history of foul trouble, that guy will have plenty of opportunities for minutes. Ideally we could land a big who has a reputation as a good perimeter shooter (Humrichous or Malone checks that box as well as the size and strength needs). I would not fill the last scholarship. The chance that Ware won't stay in the draft is very remote, but it's still possible…and there could be a de-commit available (like Mgbako last year) once the NBA draft is shaken out.

  6. I am NOT a fan of league expansion. It dilutes the great rivalries built up over the decades. It has NO upside for basketball, it's all about football, and for those of us who are far more fanatatic about basketball than football, it's a horrible thing. The novelty of playing UCLA & USC will wear off quickly.
