Thank you, Nick, for having Tim Cato on your show tonight. I love his great work on The Athletic. He has always been in Luka's corner and he, as you and I also are, seems perplexed by Luka's injury and overall health at the moment. His knee injury, and also apparent congestion, look to be almost too much for Luka to overcome. And, of course, he is being beaten up by LAC, with no help from the refs. We know the player that Luka is. Hoping that he can fovercome it all and lead the Mavs to a series win…

Luka didnt look very good in games 1/2 before the knee.
The thing to understand is even with a better Luka the Clippers have so much more shooting,depth,and coaching.Its hard to win playing 2 against 5.

Stop with the excuses. Luka shooting 38% from the field & 26% from 3 for the series while taking 23 more shots than Kyrie who's shooting 51% from the field and 49% from 3. If he is hurt even more reason to defer to Kyrie
Luka is spending a ton of energy on the defensive end to be what his coach needs from him. His defensive attention to detail is causing his game to suffer on the offensive side. He is trying to be well rounded.
@Nick and Tim if Luka was to give the damn ball up to Kai they could Kai could score earlier and more, so stop making up all these damn EXCUSES for Luka azzz….he has gained all that weight and no longer can run – you got to run the Clippers period. The Mavs made that run when they play big with Maxi and Lively/Gafford. Maxi shouldn't be alone in the paint he's short and slow, Kidd should've stick to that big line up. Luka, Kai, PJ, Maxi and Dlive/Gafford to finish games against this no Kawhi Clippers.
They absolutely cannot and will not win this series with Luka hurt. How he goes so go the Mavs…Kyrie or no Kyrie.

And also lively should start instead of gafford , gafford seems to fragile too soft sometimes and zubac owns him in this series , go with lively , attack the rim we have the athleticism (djj, lively,gafford,green,pj) just drive to the rim , and make easy baskets.
Djj did it very good the last game , just go the rim and stop play at the 3pt line , we are not the same team that was so small the last run to the western conference finals.
Luka should navigate the offense, and when kyrie starts to cook let him attack and when they send the double kyrie and leave luka , luka should consistenly attack the rim , and hopefully start make his 3pt, never saw his shot so off so much games.

Maybe the anwer is some of gaff lively and pj post ups getsome fouls and take some pressure off Luka.
This lineup is very good on the defensive end, but there is no way to open up the space on the offensive end… As a result, Luka and Kyrie do not have a lot of space to cut in. The opponent deliberately lets you shoot, but we can't make it, so…
