Trae Young would be very fun during the regular season, but I don't think you can have ANY player with a major weakness to be targeted in the playoffs. You need all your players to be able to hold their own because they will be switched on to death.

It is unmistakably obvious that 3 superstars on the same team don't work. 1 superstar, 1 all star, 1 really good player and complimentary pieces. The spurs have their superstar (wemby) and their really good player/all star (vassell) and a few good complimentary pieces. Just need the last piece. That rules out young, curry, durant, booker, giannis, etc. They need a 6-10 year vet point guard with success under his belt. If the celtics melt down and blow it up they should consider either bringing DW back and drafting wing help or kick the tires on JB and draft a PG.
The hawks are going to suck. Why would the spurs risk losing those high draft picks.

Trae Young, Donovan Mitchell, lowkey Tre Mann is looking pretty nice. Those 3 will be on my watch list.
The hidden snag in the Spurs getting any decent players in trades can be seen if looked at from the other team's point of view. The owners and GMs realize that if Wemby gets an above average player to join him, it would make the Spurs the odds on favorite to dominate the league for many years to come. None of those owners and GM's want to be known as the guy who "handed" the league to the Spurs for a decade or more.

He's on point, technically if the Spurs get 2 stars and some decent draft picks we will be back in the playoffs, easily, getting KD and like trae young or Kryie and LeBron it would change everything, it's all about $ and Wemby is bringing it, players go where the $ is …. Just my opinion.

I think giving back Atlanta their picks for young would be fine. If they keep young, they’re still going to be a play in team, so the picks won’t be that high anyway. But I would be totally against mortgaging the Spurs future for Trae Young.
