Do they not realize that the “non important” role players are really what makes a team great? Role players who can score 10-15 points is what really wins you games. Players who can defend even though people say there’s no defence in the league.

Their first thing would’ve been to not sign a 34 two career ending injury prone player, no matter how great they are, I mean look at LeBron, he’s a absolute specimen in terms of physique, and longevity, there’s a reason why in a lot of sports that have had these goats in the modern era are making fans wonder why the regular good players are retiring “early” or not as good as these amazing players when they were the same age.
KD is a great player, but he’s injury prone, and he has a massive contract. The first thing they should’ve done was not trade for KD, and especially not Bradley Beal of all people.

I think a coach has to come out with a check list so that these teams stop their fans from suffering.
Something like:
1. If your team has a singular superstar. Do they really need another one or two high volume guys?
2. If you’re trading away all your depth for two players are they LeBron James? MJ, Kobe or Jokic, or Giannis? 2 or out those guys? Since if you are trading for some injury prone stars that feet are so big their can break their ankle by jumping. Then don’t trade for them.
3. If you are gonna be stuck in purgatory if this doesn’t work out, don’t trade for them.
There’s other things you could add, but there must be a check list for teams that could be so simple in whether or not they trade for a player.
If it guys you and gives a team like 30 first round picks, plus 2 players. Maybe don’t trade? If it’s a player who just destroyed a team don’t trade for them? If it’s a player who has a no trade clause maybe stay the hell away from that bum?
Idk man, at this point every team should look at the several cases throughout the years and just do the opposite of what they did. It wouldn’t be hard to have someone do a case study for each team showing them what the Nets and Suns did wrong and how to potentially avoid it.
And I think if your team does this, the nba should just relegate them to the g league.

Poor KD, he left Brooklyn for the same reasons and he went right back to a similar situation. The front office made a bunch of stupid mistakes, the Beal trade, the new head coach, the new owner who is wet behind the ears. They should put KD somewhere stable so he can just play ball like he wants.

To be brutally honest, there are better point guards and power forwards available in the G League and going to be waived after the draft and available in the draft when they pick, get the players you need. The core three guys are okay, not great but they will do if you have 3 and D PF.and point guard to go with them. Dante Divencenzo was available for a song two years ago, pick up a guy like that and you are going places. TJD at Golden State was a late second round pick last year and the Warriors bought the pick for cash, a guy like that would make a huge difference for Phoenix. Lots of great players have been found undrafted.
If you are not finding any hidden gems, time to fire your scouting staff and try again.

The thing Vogel with this line up is a mismatch because the roster was not built for his style of play.
They made a mistake trading Paul. I know his playoff performances and his injury history and his age, but mans brought a lot of IQ, leadership, and playmaking. Asking a lot from booker to carry up the ball and taking his focus off of just getting buckets. Same with KD. It shifted the focus of booker, KD, and Beal off of what they do best.
