How The Suns Built The Worst Superteam Ever

How The Suns Built The Worst Superteam Ever

When the Phoenix Suns acquired Kevin Durant, and later on – Bradley Beal….the expectation is to win the championship right away. With a roster of 3 players making over 50 million a year, they’ve severely handicapped themselves, and it was apparent as they got swept by a superior team. This is how the Suns built the NBA’s worst superteam.

I make all kinds of NBA videos which include analysis, player stories, countdowns, and mysteries. Make sure to leave a like and subscribe if you enjoyed this video!

  1. Honestly, Booker and KD did all they could do. The bus riders were not helping shit. 9 pts from Beal…9 pts from Nurkic. Then 6-6-4-0 from the rest. 82 pts from the 2 leads.

  2. The “developing young talent” then pan camera to some random 10 year olds is exactly phoenix’s situation 😭

  3. Youve mentioned beal booker durant but you never mention the coach.. the coach is responsible to capitalized the teams talent. I dont think it will have the same result if you put mark Daigneault or spolstra on that suns bench.

  4. No, the main guy for wolves defense is not Gobert, is McDaniels, it can be named triangle defense with the wolves it's kinda unique what they do, it has the essence of zone defense but only part of the roster plays zone, they will always have one big and two perimetre defenders on court, most of the time it's Ant McDaniels and Gobert, but they also have KAT and Slomo to play centre (Slomo against small ball), and they have Alexander-Walker who is very good too, Gobert on the wolves players rather different than when he was on Jazz, he doesn't have to choose between stay under the hoop or pushing outside to the three point line, there are always two good denders outside so Gobert only need to take care of the inside, and he is much more free to push against mid-range shots because there will always be good rebounders taking care of the space he gave up, like a FIBA style zone arms are moved in unit not individually, Gobert covers a big enough air space but not all, that's what centres do in FIBA defense, always team defense first, centres taking care of the ones perimeter failed to stop, but if you don't have outside great defense, centres do nothing.

Just look at his rebounding numbers, he is dropping comparing to Utah but if you watch the game you will feel like he got a lot more, because there are less offensive rebound lost. Gobert is never good enough to be a one man stopper, he is not Dwight Howard, and with the wolves he doesn't have to be, which works for him and for the team, this not-technically zone defense is what he needs and what the team need off him.

  5. Suns got the Wolves gawt gawt treatment n got their souls finessed, outside Denver Roadhouse everyone last year never saw something more undisputed.

  6. 2013 Brooklyn Nets superteam won one playoff series.
2021 Brooklyn Nets superteam reached ECF.
2024 Phoenix Suns superteam got swept and none of the games were even close.

  7. Next szn will expose this horrendous situation of beal in the suns if KD decides to leave

  8. Nba stars are more celebrities then ball players.. they wanna team up n chill n cheat a w out… they feeling themselves n getting paid crazy… if the old era ever got paid this much, we would have whack nba for years.. players with less money gave you more energy… work like you dont wanna be fired..

  9. I meant this happen already with lakers taking massive contract to get westbrick!!! Super team don't work without good role players! Literally lakers only have ad and LeBron that is consistent everyone else is very inconsistent and plays worst in the playoffs.

  10. KD legacy is becoming more and more tainted. Went to Warriors to get him some easy rings. Since then been part of two superteams and still can't get it done while Curry has won one more since he left

  11. Wouldn’t be surprised if Minnesota makes the Finals, everyteam which beats KD’s team goes on to play there , I think it’s about two instances it didn’t happen

  12. This aint 2K where you can just spam 3 scorers to win games. In real life, you need proper team chemistry, coaching, and the right players to make it far in the playoffs. There's only one ball so someone in the "Big 3" has to be willing to take a reduced roll and adjust their game. Redundancy ain't a winning formula.

  13. How bad was this Suns experiment? Bad enough that not even Sam Presti or Jerry West can reverse this. Even 76ers Trust the Process won't work here because of no draft picks.
