The Pistons are planning to pursue Bucks GM Jon Horst as their new President of Basketball Operations, per @eric_nehm . Troy Weaver and Monty Williams would report to Horst as the lead voice. Horst began his executive career in Detroit back in 2017. (@esidery)

Not mad at all. Hope he kills it but I think a change in philosophy up top is what we need

People have been upset with Horst because the roster is aging vets but look at any competing team near the end of their window…it’s the only way to make it financially work. No team hits in the draft every year. Horst had one really poor trade in the Donte scenario but otherwise he’s been exceptional and losing him would absolutely suck. Do you know how hard it is to maintain an NBA contender in Milwaukee, WI for over half a decade? Not to mention how difficult it’s going to be to find someone to improve this team this offseason. I truly hope we don’t lose him

Everyone may be happy to see him leave but idk I have a feeling we are not going to be happy after.

Anyone else feel like he’s being scapegoated?

Horst has done a fine enough job but him bailing now screams of Bob Meyers leaving the warriors before they had to make tough front office decisions, someone significant to this team is going to have to be moved this offseason whether it be Brook, Khris or Bobby and he probably doesnt want to be the guy who trades away a beloved player like that

  7. He’s 100% gone. Horst would be stupid not to leave. Would buy him a new 4 or 5 year contract with a team with no expectations. If he stays he could be out of a job in year with the dumpster fire he’s set up.

I do not want to see him go. He managed to buck the small market trend of having to draft and develop only for players to leave. He extended Giannis, brought Jrue in, and Dame. I don’t care too much about his drafting since anything outside the lottery in the nba is an incredible crap shoot. If he does leave, we will probably be looking at back in regret as our window closes, Giannis leaves, and then we are stuck with the Nate wolters and Jon Henson era again.

  9. Don’t know why you want Horst out. Guy brought in Dame. When was the last time a superstar caliber player came to Milwaukee?

Horst greatest gift is his biggest curse. His aggressive. 5 seconds for Jae, 5 seconds for mirotic, that donte trade. But he got us Jrue, pj, dame and a trophy. He’ll be in the bucks hall of fame

This man traded 5 second round picks for Jae Crowder.

    Detroit suits him

Thank goodness. I finally get to take over as the Bucks GM.

Anyway we can get Bob Myers to replace this dude? Or is Doc about to get dual title as President of basketball ops and head coach lol 😂?

Lasry sold his share on the Bucks in April 2023.

Bud left May 2023. Jrue was traded out for Dame after that.

The Bucks are already in the new era.

Horst will leave, Giannis will leave.

The Bucks culture of the Giannis – Horst – Bud era will leave. Has already left.

Lasry is a distressed fund expert. He buys assets at their low, fixes them and sells them. That’s over.

The Bucks are not a distressed fund anymore. They need to be managed as a top team. I wish the best of luck to the new owners.
