Kawhi was my favorite player when he was in SA, but it's good he left, he is always hurt.
Whoa. “It” was not just that he wanted to be in L.A. Kawhi had ONE YEAR left on his contract. He had no control over where the Spurs moved him for the next year. He and Uncle Dennis BOTH had to know the Spurs would not just send him to Los Angeles – they were going to trade for someone valuable. If all he wanted was to be in L.A. he would have stayed in San Antonio another year and then go when he was a free agent. So “it” was that he wanted outta San Antone pronto. At any cost and anywhere else was better. For whatever reason.
I mean Kawhi is doing so good right now in play offs… he made such a good decision. ._.

It was so refreshing to see someone getting paid tens of millions of dollars to throw a ball through a hoop, then act like a child because you didn’t want to be there anymore! Further more, accusing the team who traded up to get you in the draft as well as being the team who basically invented load management of trying to make you play injured! The fact that anyone still thinks Kawhi did nothing wrong is ridiculous! He didn’t want to be there, and instead of being a man and just saying that, he played a bunch of stupid games trying to make the Spurs look bad while trying to make himself look good! It’s all bullshit, and any player or former player who says otherwise is either besties with Kawhi or has some kind of beef with the Spurs

Dude walks away from about an $80million dollar 💰 bag when he left SAytown, he ABANDONED his teammates during his last playoff run cause of "injury" , he hid from the Spurs brass and upper management when they checked on his rehab while away from his team -allegedly-(anyone remember that story? Hilarious!) while still cashing them Spurs checks 💰! Dude NEVER spoke for himself, caused alot of confusion which then caused Tony & Manu to say "mean things" about his recovery/injury….yeah he simply wanted out of SA! I think SAytown is happy he's gone?! 👀 Don't worry SAytown

I’m afraid wemby will leave, if we wait 4 or 5 years, his rookie contract will be up , he probably will be the highest paid player in the league and the spurs would have hardly no money to get players then
Kawhi's crew would literally watch the front door of the gym that Kawhi was working out at in NYC and warn him when Spurs personnel would show up so he could leave out of the back door. He ducked Pop AND Duncan doing this. He refused to use the Spurs medical team and got his own doctor.
I watched the whole San Antonio segment, were they making fun of the Spurs' culture towards the end? I couldn't understand what the hell that goofy-ass host was saying.
They way he went about it was very unprofessional and honestly just disrespectful given everything the team helped him accomplish in his career, and not to mention the mentoring he received by 4 hall of famers. Make no mistake about it without the Spurs Kawhi doesn't ever win a championship period. Not here not in Toronto. They way how he and his camp dragged everyone to try and justify his exit said alot about the garbage person he really is.
I knew it was that right away. I had the weird feeling when he was drafted because he said he chose his school because of how close it was to home. Knew he would leave eventually, but the way he did it was uncool.
The Kawhi situation was always so bizzare to me. His image in SA shielded him from any doubt. In everyones mind he was this simple dude who just wanted to hoop, he never talked much and drove an old car. That image gave him the perfect shield. "Why would someone like that be desprate to go to a flashy city? Man just wants to hoop". When it came out that SAS werent taking care of him, i was like, "how does it benefit them if they don't?!" but most people, save SAS fans, took his side because of his shield. Biggest tell was when he left to raptors, won a ring there and still dipped without hesitation. It was like, "this man really, really wants to go to LA doesnt he?". Too bad he decided to burn bridges on his way out and pretend "you don't know the full story".
The ultimate revenge would be to sign Paul George this off season and leave Kawhi to try and figure it out in LA

Kawhi Leonard shorted himself so what he got ring when he left us that inconvenienced him he would have gotten more if he would have stayed and Rudy you were an important piece with what we had but I take my hat off to LaMarcus Aldridge he put the team on his back when khawi was being stubborn not wanting to play you probably didn't have to play that hard we just needed a little more help to beat the nuggets that 1st round Derek white also stepped up alot that year we were a good squad without khawi
Let’s not mention KAWHI and The Spurs in the same sentence ever again. Dude gained some status in San Antonio and became a diva then used it to get out and go to LA with all the other divas

Only people that support Leonard are those that are jealous of the Spurs and wanted a reason to hate, or ghetto idiots that don't like the Spurs culture because it's not ghetto like them.

If Kawhi didn't get injured, Spurs win that year. If Kawhi doesn't leave, Spurs also win that year… Kawhi came back and played some of his best basketball. Took them to ECF and hit game winning shot to get them in the Finals. Then helped secure the Raps first chip in history. Wow, to think all that could've been Spurs! Shame… But I appreciate the hard work and dedication to being how he was. It was awesome seeing him grow in SA!
Even outside of all the SA mess, Kawhi is an oddball. That first year in clippers and he was out of playoffs, he couldn’t even sit with his teammates n sad up in a box seat. Not cool to dog on his broken body but he’s a weirdo
Rudy wearing sunglasses indoors and his speech pattern tells me he was maybe high during that interview. Removing the sunglasses probably would have revealed dilated pupils.
And Clippers will NEVER win with Kawhi.
And Toronto only got lucky cause KD & Klay got injured.
