What is with crowning people before they do anything big these days? Ant is MJ/Kobe for winning one playoff series after never talking about him for years. Now Brunson is better than Ewing (a decade of all NBA play/like 6 years of truly contending/one game short of a ring)
Insane on so many levels because Patrick Ewing is the greatest Knick of all time. #2 and #3, Frazier and Reed, literally played with each other (and their championship teams had 6 HOF including them). Ewing never played with another HOF, but his teams made deep runs perennially. He did the most with the least. Happy to see Brunson carrying on that torch

I’m seeing everybody talking about respect for Ewing which is cool but don’t forget about King. After those 2 comes Brunson right in as of now but things are still up in the air. About Melo, Brunson has already passed him. ECSF twice in 2 seasons, a thing Melo managed only once in almost 7 yrs

Ewing has over 23,000 points, 10,000 rebounds, and over 2,700 block shots. Also, all time leader in steals.
Under Ewing the Knicks went to 4 ECFs and 2 NBA Finals. Between 1989 to 2000 the Knicks were in the 2nd round every year except 1991. Ewing has a 60 win season, 57 win season and a 55 win season. Some of the greatest defensive teams in NBA history is with Ewing in his prime.

I love Brunson and what he's doing right now but let's pump the breaks a bit. The young fella got to accomplish a little more in a Knicks uniform before we can compare him to a man that was part of a team that gave us our last two championship victories.
Leadership and best player since Frazier are 2 different questions. No he’s not better than Ewing or Melo and you can make arguments for others as well.
Is he the best leader since then? He very much may be. If they win it all he can have claim on both.
Ewing took the Knicks to the playoffs 15 straight years. Conference Semis 9 straight years. Best guard since Frazier? Yes. Even Marbury agrees. Best player? Not while Patrick Ewing exists. Not yet.
