  1. Trey would be heaven sent. Score and passing. Imagine polo catching alley hoop from young. Trey is a bonafide scorer other team would be have problems on defense. We also a rim protector that can rebound. Franz would be better without the ball catch shoot fit franz better.

  2. My ideal off season would be something like this:

Find a way to come out of the draft with PG Jared McCain primarily using draft capital (I think he is going to be a star – a cross between Steph Curry and Donovan Mitchell). Right now he is projected to be drafted somewhere near the bottom of the lottery, which could mean it would not be too expensive to make that move.

Then I sign these 3 players in free agency:

PG Tyus Jones, SG Gary Trent, Jr., and SF Patrick Williams

Re-sign Goga Bitadze, let Markelle Fultz, Gary Harris, Chuma Okeke, and Joe Ingles walk. Then hope for a big jump in development from Anthony Black, Jett Howard, and Caleb Houstan, and continued growth from Banchero, Franz, Suggs, Carter, Isaac, Cole Anthony, and Moritz.

This way you are adding some serious shooting to the team with McCain, Trent, and Williams and some much needed floor generalship with Tyus, who can also shoot and defend well and has a high assist to turnover ratio, a much needed trait with the Magic. McCain offers a more dynamic high end upside at PG who can absolutely light it up, freeing up Black to use his versatility and play all three back court positions. Williams also gives you another versatile high upside defender who can play with or without the ball in his hands on offense and has a deadly shot. He's also a three position player and can play both PF and SG in addition to SF. Trent is a high volume quick release shooter with great form who can offer instant offense off the bench and stretch defenses. You are adding proven depth and great shooting at the wing positions who are still young and on the same timeline as the current roster. You are adding two PGs who can shoot, pass, and handle the ball while playing solid defense, one who is a proven veteran who is still young yet who is mature and can settle the team down and get them in the right place while mentoring the younger and more dynamic PG prospect in McCain, who is deadly from outside. Then if you get a jump from Jett and Caleb you have a plethora of shooting options, especially compared to last season. This would also give you about 7 or 8 players who can initiate the offense: Jones, McCain, Black, Anthony, Suggs, Banchero, Franz, and maybe even Williams. This can all be done without giving up any of the front court depth and talent that was the backbone of the team this season and makes them so tough of defense. I think this team is too young and a couple seasons of playoff experience away from being true contenders and I prefer to sign young players who are closer to the same time line as the current roster instead of getting someone like Paul George, whose window is closing quickly. The young guys will still have trade value and manageable contracts in 2 years if you think a bolder move is necessary then. This would be an aggressive offseason without drastically altering their current time line or depleting their flexibility to make future moves by having a foster full of young talent and most of their draft capital to boot. I think this also helps maintain the chemistry and camaraderie this team seems to have built without as much potential to disrupt it. I would love to add a Trae Young or a Donovan Mitchell, but that would cost and drastically change the chemistry of the team. I believe McCain has the potential to be every bit as good if not better than either or both of those guys and would ,most likely accomplish it without too much disruption to their current roster or trajectory.
