Don’t make this dumb move ,50 million for a 35 year old 20 pt scorer . Trade for Dejounte Murray or Brandon Ingram and sign some free agents. Nick Clayton can be the back up center . Jimmy Butler alone with free agent scarps doesn’t make you better than the teams that are left .

Give up all my draft picks and young player or players for a descending 35-year-old all star, no I would not do it, but the sixers are dumb enough to do it. I would do this sign Miles Bridges. Then I would go and get a back up center Nick Claxton, Isaiah Hartenstein, Andre Drummond, Kevin Love, they are all better than what we have. Keep my draft picks and actually do some work and draft a solid young player or 2 that can be in the rotation next season. Ricky council gets a chance to be in the rotation a real chance not a BS one.

Jimmy is my LEAST desired person of those rumored for the following reasons:
1. You have to give up assets for him
2. You have to give him a max extension through his age 38 season
3. The fit is NOT smooth. He is a midrange heavy iso player who’s rarely shoots 3s and shoots a poor % when he does.
4. Jimmy has the biggest ego out of all the guys rumored. He is not coming here to be the 3rd banana
5. He doesn’t take the regular season seriously, which doesn’t help us when Embiid misses time

Does anyone really think Riley would send Butler in division without completely stripping your team in return? Riley is smarter than that. Edit: Riles trades Jimmy to LA to fight with Bron after they lose 1st round next year.
Jimmy has been prone to injuries these last few years as well as Embid, thats playing with fire, a home run hit would be required to win it all, Embid and Jimmy both healthy come playoff time, I wouldn't hold my breath though.
I'm on board with Jimmy Buckets, the one thing we need the most is someone who show up for the big games, who better than Playoff JB.. Another point, Jimmy and Embiid already have a great relationship so the chemistry is there.. We don't need JB to be the best player or have to be the number one and put the team on his back day after day, night after night…
Heat fans don't appreciate Jimmy though. Some heat fabs were saying Heat played better without him this year.
Butler's contact sucks but maybe if he's looking for an extension and the Heat want to rebuild, they may be open to retaining some of the cap hit for 2024/25?
He's a straight upgrade over Harris, and he's coming off his best 3pt shooting season so I like the fit.
