man, i hope luka gets his mojo back. he is useless on the floor

  2. Simple_Wait_7286

Look, I appreciate Luka so much for his toughness and willingness to play through injury. Especially with all the load management in today’s league.

At the same time, can’t keep giving him that as an excuse for his poor play. We rely on him too much offensively for him to continue shooting sub-40% and 20% from three. And his defense is not good enough to make up for the lack of efficiency.

If he’s gonna play, he’s gotta play better.

  3. ShadowAgent41

Best duo in the league is SGA and the whistle

  4. If Luka isnt better this series is a sweep or we lose in 5, just the reality of things. And I dont think he is gonna be able to get better with how bad he looks physically, he cannot even run up and down the floor.

  5. Acreativeusername69

Luka needs to sit a game or two if his knee is really this bad.

  6. Witteness82

Absolute disaster class of a game. Out rebounded, out hustled and completely undisciplined with the ball combined with one of the absolute worst games Luka has ever played. Embarrassing.

  7. AcademicBuilding336

Luka was the main thing holding them back tonight, abysmal performance

  8. Didn’t come with enough intensity, Thunder hit their shots and we didn’t—onto the next one. But honestly, if this is how Luka is going to look all series I don’t like our chances.

  9. GadielR1

With 5 minutes to go, Jason Kidd decides to bring out Gafford for Hardaway and go small while they bring Chet out and get all the rebounds…it doesn’t make sense

Luka’s gotta be better. Mavs in 6.

  10. needsumMoore777

It’s crazy to say we’ve been down worse than this in these playoffs, we can bounce back. Tighten a few things up and this series is still very winnable. On to game 2.

  11. Fupastain

We are cooked if this is the Luka we get. And as always Tim is fucking ass.

  12. yaboiocho

Never put Tim back in a lineup ever again, and Luka is clearly injured the way he played tonight.

  13. It’s one game, this fan base is ridiculous. We played in their house when they are rested. We did some great things the first half despite some terrible calls and PJ having to sit half of the 1st.

Luka is playing hurt. He’s getting to his spots they just aren’t falling. If yall want him to sit, it’s a wrap.

  14. phisch13

Lukas a net negative right now. I think even an average Luka game makes this close. Got some solid role player nights even with the touchy whistle.

    Bounce back Thursday

  15. HispanicAtTehDisco

i mean, not as bad as the clippers game 1 but man seeing luka like this is concerning

  16. NguyensPonytail

Luka plays one of the worst games of his playoff career, they get super hot from 3 late and bury the game. The result isn’t surprising with those facts; Luka/Kyrie need to take care of the ball better but I hope this Luka knee injury isn’t getting worse

  17. emmseeyou

There’s just no hope with this hobbled Luka and it’s not going away anytime soon

  18. flatbushz7

Good news: it’s only 1 game and a win in game 2 gives us the edge

Bad news: I am not too giddy about our prospects of winning game 2

  19. Entire-Technician-20

All I’ll say is that if Luka plays the Olympics instead of rehabbing his knee then I will be incredibly disappointed in him

  20. Sdaben10

Sigh. Terrible refs. Luka shitty 3, I miss Maxi, Onto game 2

  21. vlad_thegod

Have we tried turning Luka off and on yet? Maybe put him in some rice? Idk

  22. marginallymediocre

Starting to think Luka’s dead jump shot isn’t coming back, and if it’s not then we might be cooked. We’ll see…onto game 2.

  23. DatPunchTho

Luka playing like ass and THJ getting 9 4th quarter minutes. Not gonna win many games with that formula.

  24. Incorrect1012

It sucked. They couldn’t miss. We couldn’t hit. The series isn’t over. Don’t overreact.

I’m pretty sure I wrote this same sentence last series

  25. is fucking kidd scares of Tim sr or something why does he see thj as naz Reid

  26. Adri_ann

Bro Luka shouldn’t be playing, this is absurd, he’s running on one leg

  27. korrelazn

I could def see us losing the rest of the series if Luka doesn’t get better (and he won’t because of his knee getting worse)

  28. jeremy9931

Series ain’t over but I hope it is for THJ. He should have sat the rest of the game after those 2 back-to-back 3s he bricked.

Being realistic though, we’re going to have to do much better about denying them open 3s if we want this series to be competitive because we simply can’t afford to trade 2s for 3s all game.

  29. Slashers23

I was hoping the days off would help Luka a little, it did not.

  30. love-one-score-games

Mavs gotta up their drug game. There’s gotta be some sort of cocktail they can concoct that will have Luka feeling invincible for a couple hours.

  31. Klutzy-Win122

Yikes, the discourse around Luka by mavs fans on twitter is disgusting. Poor kid did not carry the franchise for 5 years to be absolutely thrown under the bus for few bad playoff games.

  32. MoneyintheHank

We always lose game 1 so the world isn’t ending yet but there are some clear issues for us that we just won’t have answers for.

Luka looked great to start and just got worse and worse as the game went on. He’s fighting to be out there but at times he’s a net negative.

They have better defenders to guard Kyrie, and it showed. He can definitely play better than what we saw, especially those uncharacteristic first half turn overs.

Gafford had a great game but he’s gonna have trouble playing for long stretches when they take Giddey out and play 5 shooters.

Green looked good despite missing shots late. Why THJ was getting minutes over him I do not know.

We overall look like we lack the offensive fire power to keep up with them. Going to have to turn it into a grind out game because there is a real chance we shoot worse from 3 than them in every game of the series
