Imho, we have to start with two notions: 1) Key had a nice rookie season, but not a particularly convincing one. He will not be a factor in this draft.
2) Also, based on Ainge’s comments, and the state of the roster, despite the 3 picks, I doubt that Utah drafts more than one guy that will play this year (be it bc of trades or draft&stash).
So, if Utah takes Reed, it’s bc they think that he can run the point, and bc he is an upgrade over Key.
I’m not advocating for or against drafting Reed (a lot will depend on when they pick), but I will say that I think that Reed is a superior prospect to Key, and will absolutely be capable of running the point at a high level.
