Yes he is doing the right thing when the defense wants to pay so much attention to him. He’s making them pay by pitching it out to his teammates, getting them involved playing as a teammate and not as an individual. That’s the key to winning a championship. John

Omg John, this is why I love your pod. Tatum wasn’t the best but he did literally everything else. He saw coverages and recognised the mismatches and got the ball to the matchup they wanted offensively.
I hate to say that I agree with Colin Cowherd but he's right. I'd rather have Tatum sharing the load than Luka/Brunson being over used, predictable and tired.
Just need to get this out there. Just finished watch game 2 of Knicks Pacers and the Knicks are such an annoying team to watch. They remind me of the Heat or Nick Nurse Kyle Lowry Raptors. Just constant crying to the refs about no calls, and then crying to the refs about foul calls, foul baiting, flopping, show boating. Just enjoyed zero seconds of watching them play.
Here is why the team is unselfish, because the guys at the top are. If you know your stars are willing to move the ball, the role players see that and goes "okay I got the ball, im slightly open but there's someone even more open let me give the ball to him." instead of "oh I got the ball, better shoot it now I dont know when else will I get the ball if at all"
Thank You for being the most reasonable Celtics media I consumed today. The Tatum bashing after a team win by over 20 is baffling.

I'm glad you're fighting the Tatum criticism, despite what they are saying, all stars have slumps, most sulk in the corner or try to shoot out of it. Tatum plays hard on D, gets assists and a TON of secondary assists and boards when his shot isn't falling. Does he need to shoot better? Yes, of course. However he is still having the biggest impact on the floor of all C's players, and that is zero knock on JB because you can only really double team one guy and so far for the Heat and Cavs picked JT
He’s not that guy at all. He can score a lot, but he’s not the #1 guy…!!!! #1 guy’s can score regardless of Double Triple teams… I don’t think Tatum is making everyone better by standing on the perimeter and shot chucking at 33% percent 3 point shooting percentage rate where he settles for 95% percent of his total shot attempts…!!!!!
No changes needed in my eyes. I mean they could put Mitchell on his ass early to let him know nothing will come easy. Joe is exactly right tho. Every gme u could’ve probably dne sumthn better win or lose. Sometimes we mke it more thn it has to be but it’s pretty simple to me. The objective is to win the gme at the end of the day.
Tatum has done more than Ant in the playoffs but Steph Curry has done more than Tatum, Tatum is actually better than Curry now but Ant looks like a top 5 guy and Tatum dont. JB has been looking more like a top 10 than Tatum.

Hes been just as big or bigger than anyone on the other team in the playoffs and hecshooting 40% from the field. Who is really stopping him from getting downhill? They did put up a wall at times but he cant just sit around dribbling.
If Tatum plays like that and it makes us win by 25pts every game then let it be. No adjustments because the only change that will happen is that the law of averages will increase his points the next time. Him, JB and D. White are getting things going.
The problem is people want JT to be an alpha scorer so bad like an SGA or Luka or even Spida. He is not. He will never be. He will have some nights but thats simply not his skill set. Thats like asking kawhi to consistently play 60+ games in a season.
JT at his best is an all-around player. A point forward defender closer to the mold of grant hill. He is more draymond than he is steph or klay nf the problem is people want him to be steph or klay. They assess him as if hes steph. Assess him as if hes prime draymond. JT doesnt get enough credit for his defense.
yes his efficiencies need to be better. 7/19 isnt goig to cut it. Either shoot better or pass the ball more and stop taking stupid shot like that iso side step 3 over tristan thompson with the clock winding down.
Heres a good rule of thumb for JT. hes up to 15 shots and has made less than 7 shots so far? nope its not your night. Pass the ball. I dont want to see another shot unless its a FT, dunk or layup.
Hes at 15 shots and has made 8+ shot? Keep shooting.
So yes last night he couldve taken 4-5 less shots and passed the ball to someone else like hauser to get him going.
And no we dont need JT to carry us to win the chip. We have d.white. And if that fails, we have JB. and Kp Is coming back. This is the 04 pistons or the spurs team of old. This is TEAM ball. Not superstar ball that so many people want to see so they can use JT in their MVP arguments vs. ant. We dont need an MVP when we have the best TEAM.

so yeah dont worry about JTs offense. D.white is on a heater. Ride it. Remember the playoffs the past 3Y? how many 30, 40 and 50 point games did JT have? its coming. We are due. My hope is it comes when we need it. We wont need it vs. the cavs. We wont need it vs. the knicks/pacers. D.white is enough and hes going to win ECF MVP. JT is fine doing his best draymond green impression.
Derrick White is playing out of this world! Scoring 22.8 ppg on 57.5 FG% and 50% 3pt% with 9.3 3pt attempts a game! This guy just keeps getting better and better and better! Seriously White playing at unreal level efficiency wise! Never have I seen a guy that's literally a 3rd/4th option play as effienct and be so lethal!

Jayson needs to start moving without the ball. The team will definitely find him cutting to the basket every time.
Joe Mazzulla said something today in his interview which was pretty telling about JT. The team was 1.6 when JT was screening which if they kept that up they would be the best team in the history of basketball. I assume that means that when Tatum screens they are scoring 1.6 points per possession. That is very telling. If Tatum was a screener on every play and that statistic held, they'd be scoring 140+. Makes you think he must have some value as something other than a scorer.
I'm not mad, the energy Tatum can reserve the better, let all does other stars from other teams run dry and burnout a fresh Tatum is the best Tatum period !!

I saw JT was getting trashed on sports television today. We are winning, but they act like he needs to be scoring 40 a game.
my criticism on Tatum is that he should improve his efficiency. he is only shooting 41% and 25% from 3s in this playoff (6 games)
Just play great team basketball on both ends of the court and get 11 more wins. Who cares who scores how many, I don’t care. Get 18 ☘️🏀
Tatum is so good/talented that he can impact the game even if he shoots 35 percent from the field. He had 11 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 blocks in game 1. This is a positive thing, not a negative one. He's not forcing things on the offensive end. When it's necessary, he'll get his points.

People online like to equate points with greatness. A true leader is not a specialist but a generalist force. He is not the best but knows enough about every aspect of the game to read it and control it. Tatum is this type of player.
