Could Jamir Watkins, Jaylon Tyson or Tyler Smith be the guy for the Toronto Raptors at 19th-overall?

In Episode 1638, Sean Woodley goes solo to take a look at a trio of intriguing potential options for the Toronto Raptors with the 19th (or 31st) pick in the 2024 NBA Draft: Florida State wing Jamir Watkins, California guard/wing Jaylon Tyson and G-League Ignite stretch big man Tyler Smith. Off the top, Sean digs into why Watkins, a soon-to-be 23-year old, do-it-all 6’7 wing with all sorts of long-term role player potential might just be his favourite potential Raptors target with the 19th pick. Next, Sean takes a look at Tyson, whose circuituous college career probably has his incredibly crafted and smoothe offensive game going under the radar going into the draft. Lastly, Sean breaks down Tyler Smith’s stretchy but somewhat narrow skillset, and digs into whether it might be worth the risk for the Raptors to take a look at a guy who might be the best shooting big in the draft.

  1. Sean, would love to hear your thoughts on some Raptors-y wings that could be there in the 31-to-undrafted range like Trentyn Flowers, Pacome Dadiet, Jonathan Mogbo, and Jalen Bridges. I’m with you on Jamir Watkins but despite the shooting limitations I’m hitching my wagon to Ryan Dunn at 19.

  2. There’s a zero % chance Watkins goes at 19. Not sure what the hell you’re thinking dude. That’s insane. Tyler smith maybe Tyson is more likely at 31

  3. Tankathon doesn’t have Watkins in the top 70 prospects. And you want to take him at 19? Dude we can get him Undrafted for sure.

  4. Jamir Watkins at 19 is way too high ,maybe 19th in the second round or underrated free agent.

  5. Watkins Walkins seems like a 2nd round guy, if he's 19ish on a mock please post a link. I see nbadraftroom has him at 29, no ceiling has him at 49. I do like your thought process of a 2-way wing. What about Ryan Dunn or Ware?

  6. Dude pleas find another team to talk about. You don't know what your talking about one bit.
you need to have some conscious.
Raptors need Power forward or C
When was the last time they draft a big yet they get man handled by every single bigs
around the league. If I am choosing a wing its because he is the best man up next

  7. At 19 its highly unlikely you hit the jackpot. Thats why you go with players that can contribute right away. Solid players that still have upside. I'm liking Nikola Djurisic,
Tyler Kolek, Mark Sears and Zach Edey.
