  1. Odd trade from what we know right now. It’s sad not to get anything (of significance) back for Ivey. We may have gotten worse at shooting without getting any better defensively. But maybe there’s another real move that happens here and makes it make sense.

  2. I feel for JI. The guy has had bad luck from the beginning. Cade gets hurt his rookie year. Had to deal with Monty playing Killian over him in year 2. Played great in the first half of year 3 to have it derailed by a freakish injury. Hope he is able to find consistency moving forward, whether that is in Chicago or somewhere else.

  3. Pure addition by subtraction.
Ivey’s tools were never the problem; coaches loved the straight‑line burst and his ability to get two feet in the paint on demand. But by year three he still wasn’t consistently organized in half‑court sets, blew weak‑side rotations, and freelanced off‑ball in ways that killed spacing and timing next to Cade. He watched many, many games from the bench while recovering….and he still did not know what he was doing out there or where he was supposed to be.

  4. We got a higher draft pick, about $49M in expiring money, minutes created for Jenkins most likely, and a better shooter on a down year (but still a better movement shooter, so fits better with Cade). I'm okay with this

  5. Ivey the one who sparked that first winning streak last year And helped us be a winning team he was balling and hitting game winners that was after the pistons lost a historic number of games
