Best part of the trade outside of his fit with the team. Wolves are under the 1st apron still. They have his bird rights and will be able to resign him. That was a major factor with the Wolves trading Dillingham and 4 seconds. Ayo can sign a 3/52 mil contract. Not sure he will get that. But even if he does. Wolves will be able too and stay under the 2nd apron…
We still gotta deal with Chris Finch horrific coaching issues and Julius Randle, but other than that. Yes the sky’s the limit for this team!

What will fix all the Wolves problems is if they stop sleepwalking through the regular season and not lose inexplicably to lesser opponents. They can beat teams like the Spurs and Thunder, but lose twice to a bottom feeder Pelicans team and others like the Kings and Jazz. The Wolves are good, but not THAT good to where they think they can just put themselves on autopilot all the time.
btw mike conley isn’t being taken out of the rotation, he’s resigning with the wolves after he gets waived

Don't mistake Ayo for just a bench player — he was the 6th man, but he always closed games. He was one of the Bulls best players but didn't have such an ego that he had to start. He was always an integral part of the most important line up, the closers.

I'm on board with what the GM has managed to do at the deadline. It was better than I thought as going for G.A. was a mistake as it would have altered the team plus he has entered into his fragile years. Rob needs a couple more years to figure out the NBA. This team can't wait like the bad old Wolves teams could have.
Love the possibilities but no way Finch will hand the keys over to Ayo. He should but he won't.
