It is definitely the Gambling companies!!
Maybe don’t run around screaming “we’re tanking”
Just a thought
What ideas are out there to prevent tanking ? I’ve stopped watching the Jazz due to the obvious tanking
As a fan, I'd rather see the starters play for 3 quarters rather than 0 minute. But of course betting people wouldn't.
Scotty, you can defend the Jazz all you want, and I get it. However, the NBA has become a total rip off for a lot of us fans. It's hard to defend a game where losing is rewarded, players under contract can decide they don't like their situation and not play, the refs are corrupt, and players make millions and millions and decide to sit out the night you buy a ticket. That's why I no longer watch the NBA.
Jazz ball has impressed the fans of the game lately… The freefall of clearing the cap with names like Clarkson and Collins, bringing more of these fast young-bucks and a smoking gun like acquiring JJJ. Everything the team does is trend setting and the SUPERNOVA of the season is the REASON.
They have instantly regrouped, and going from the off-season into a mediocre meshing early. Now they have upset the league by adjusting with minimal money and parts moving. Fat Cats don't like the initiative 😂
You pissed off Adam Silver, his bookie told him to put all of his money on the Miami Heat. The Commissioner did not have time to fix the game like they did in the 1997 and 1998 Finals when the Utah Jazz actually defeated the Bulls in both series. However NBA fraudsters fixed those games…Watching the NBA is like watching Pro Wrestling, they hide their cheating better.
Hot take: Tanking isn’t ruining the NBA — it’s why the league has more parity now than in decades.
Look at the last 7 years. We’ve had multiple different champions, small-market teams winning, and no long-term superteam dynasty controlling the league.
Compare that to earlier eras:
• The Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics dominating the 80s
• The Chicago Bulls in the 90s
• The San Antonio Spurs dynasty
• The Golden State Warriors superteam run
For decades, championships clustered around dynasties and superstar consolidations.
In the last 7 years?
Small markets like:
• Milwaukee Bucks
• Denver Nuggets
have won titles. That’s not accidental. That’s the draft system working.
Tanking gives struggling teams a path to elite talent instead of permanent irrelevance. Without it, we’d likely be back to dynasties and superteams controlling everything.
You can hate the optics — but structurally, tanking increases long-term competitive balance
So is the JJJ injury left over from Memphis? Or is it new? Did we just get screwed again? I am wondering if the NBA can take away a franchise because the owner is too stupid?
Jazz get crapped on because your population is too white?
Nailed it, Scotty!
The league is going to bump the jazz down to the 9 spot so they won't get the draft pick.
everyone can do it but the Jazz pretty simple
Btw last time pick in the top 4 is 1980 with the #2 pick. Since 1983 the Cavs have had 7 number one picks alone. Let that sink in. Leave the Jazz alone.
Utah also doesn't allow sports gambling so it's not like the Jazz care about people giving these online casinos their money. This was literally the only recourse for draft kings and their ilk to put pressure on the Jazz. If you really want to bring integrity back to the NBA you would excise sports gambling out of the sport. Bunch of hypocrites.
How about every team has the same odds except for 2 teams in the finals. No incentive to lose.
Also once you get a top 5 pick you can’t get a top 5 pick for 5 more years. So when they draw ping pong ball’s they take those teams out. Keeps it fair and doesn’t reward losing.
Don’t put a bunch of ping pong balls in, just put in 1 per team.
