  1. Top 10 teams from both conference make the playoffs + play in.

Give the top5 picks to the 21st to 25th ranked team after the elimination. Then purposive losses might be eliminated

  2. Lol, tanking teams will gladly give up 2nd round picks. I will deliver them on a silver platter myself to the commissioner. This commissioner is turning into a joke.

  3. The NBA’s tanking problem comes from the league rewarding teams for being as bad as possible. This idea flips the incentive without blowing up the draft.

    How it works:
    • Teams picking 4–10 get a $50M cap‑space voucher (spread over the next two offseasons).
    • Teams can save up to $100M total—anything above that disappears.
    • If a team enters the draft already holding the full $100M, they can’t get picks #1 or #2.
    • Note: the dollar amounts can be adjusted to whatever makes sense for the league and cap environment — I’m not an expert on the exact figures.

    Why it helps:
    • Makes the middle of the lottery valuable instead of the bottom.
    • Teams can rebuild with a real timeline: collect young talent → save vouchers → spend big when the core is ready.
    • Small‑market teams finally get a structural advantage when their window opens.
    • The worst teams still get top picks, but tanking becomes way less appealing.

    End result:
More competitive seasons, fewer teams trying to lose, and a smarter path to contention that rewards planning—not intentional failure.

  4. Tanking solution:
Have the last ten teams after 64 games, play a double round robin classification games. The higher the win percentage at the end, the higher the draft lottery percentage. The rest of the league will have their own classification games leading to the playoffs.

  5. Considering the lottery has ALWAYS been rigged they are just intentionally ruining their sport. Otherwise they would do it live not behind closed doors and release the results later. Thats BS and I don't trust them. Ask Shaq and Bron if lottery is rigged and they both went #1.

  6. Marks is coming after Utah like a jealous ex. Danny Ainge must still live rent free in that guys head from when he was with Brooklyn. Nobody talking about how the lakers sat all 5 starters, or how Utah just beat the G League team Sac just put on the floor, AD and Tre won’t sniff the floor this season, just watch what Dallas is gonna do to improve their last FRP for the next couple seasons…I watch the last 3 Jazz games and enjoyed the Miami and Orlando games. The sac game was trash with them sitting all their players. I’d rather the first two. But I guess the league would prefer putting out a team of scrubs.

  7. Address gambling, and ref manipulation first. That is way more important to the integrity of the game.

  8. I still do not understand how different of the tanking from the past? Everyone knows which teams were tanking!

  9. The Utah Jazz Pacers and Wizards has no reason to be tanking when they got young pieces to build around already especially Washington and Utah

  10. Has anyone considered reversing the draft? The NBA Champs get 1st pick, the other finalist 2nd, etc. it sounds weird, but it does a few things. First it solves incentives, like in most things in life outside of sports, you reward winning. I’m the short term, it builds mini dynasties, which all the media heads say is good for the league. However, the strange thing it will do, due to the salary cap aprons, it means within a few years, teams have to make a tough decision on keeping the stars that that got you to the finals or upgrade the younger players because they’d all deserve the max. For example, I think it means Wemby would have been on the Nuggets. Sure, having Joker, Murray, and a young Wemby would be unfair for 2-3 years, but they’re a classic example of a team shedding salary so they would have a really tough choice but would be up to an extension this year.

  11. OKC puppets. Fans should be able to enjoy watching a team trying to make the plays after a Major trade. What's not sportsmanlike is OKC winning about the same game they used to get their championship. What Babies ESPN always criticizes a team for not tanking: the years the Bulls kept playing and stayed in the middle of the pack. This is just hipitricital as hell. Did Persti threaten not to give ESPN media favors? as a fan I saw nothing wrong with the Jazz/Magic game, or the Jazz/Heat game. The bench players need to learn, too. They played well. Not calling a timeout? What freedom does a coach have? The media, for the most part is just failing and pushing this narative eather for team favors are katering to the haters narative.. the true integrity issue is in the media.

  12. Get rid of the lottery and have the worst team get the first pick and you’ll have teams stop tanking it’s that simple

  13. all this boils down to gambling and they mad about it . its easy to bet against the tanking teams and they dont want that

  14. If you can prove a team is tanking to get a lottery pick, the punishment should be to simply disqualify them from the lottery. Their highest possible draft selection would be #15. How can you fine a team for tanking to get a lottery pick and still allow that team to remain in the lottery?

  15. I’d take multiple draft picks (1st round picks) if a team is proven to tank, it’s absolutely ruined the Game in the eyes of the fans, the style of play doesn’t help either

Also, they need to hold the lottery in public, and it needs to be done by an independent source, because Cooper Flagg to Dallas was absolutely rigged

  16. Why not do reverse seeding and create a round robin sort of postseason for the lottery teams? Worst team is the 1st seed so on and so forth. But ultimately, the top picks are something to have to win. You can handicap games, where if the Wizards are playing the Hawks or another mid tier team, you give them whatever the spread is, at the start of the 4th quarter. The point is that, teams will need to approach player development differently. Coaches need to keep developing line ups etc all the way until the season ends because you need to win in order to earn a higher pick. It would provide very competitve games. More basketball and you incentivize player development and team development all the way until the very end of the season. Postseason lottery tournament.

  17. Create 2 divisions: a 1st division and a 2nd division NBA league. Bottom 3 teams in the first division get relegated to the 2nd division. The top 3 teams from the 2nd division get promoted, and the teams that get promoted have the first 3 picks in the draft. Bottom teams will fight hard not to be relegated

  18. The bulls should be fined . Yall gave up Coby for absolutely nothing Jaden Ivey is nothing more den lonzo and lonzo did more .
