THIS is why the Grizzlies gave up on Jaren Jackson Jr.
The Memphis Grizzlies traded away Jaren Jackson Jr. shortly after signing him to a massive extension. However, they’ve had the idea to trade him for a long time now, so in this video…let’s take a look at what finally made them pull the trigger. Hope you enjoy!

Facts! Dude is the epitome of one dimensional player.
I remember watching one game grizzlies vs magic and he only had 2 rebounds 😂
He's another Embiid in my opinion. I would've traded him a long time ago.
1. He’s not a centre, he’s a catch-n-shoot stretch power forward.
2. I agree with most of your assessment – can’t rebound, foul prone, can’t pass & doesn’t play inside as much as he should (eye test shows he cannot take the physicality).
The Jazz have good development coaches, I give JJJ 2-3 seasons to show some improvement, or he’ll be a career 6th man/reserve. He has potential, it’s the “effort” plays that seem to be lacking, in my eyes.
Bro, he's not even a center, you're just jumping on the Jazz hate train. The fact is they traded him because they want to blow it up but ended up not being able to find anyone willing to take on Ja's toxic ass. The Jazz are gonna maul people next season.
He played there for 8 years?? JJJ has been in the league 8 years?? Wow time flies
it's a team going nowhere and his value is maxed right now. acting like they traded him because he sucks and not because everything else around him fell apart and NOW was the time to get max value for him .. before his contract kicked in and would have been harder for teams to put money together for a trade
He’s not a center
Don't rebound enough
Utah gonna be a problem fully healthy
3:54 🤢🤢🤢
I think it’s become more simple can’t draft a big man who can’t rebound. He has all the tools to be an elite rebounder but too many times he’s plays catch and shoot from deep. He also doesn’t play inside like most bigs do, gets into a lot of foul trouble, and he can’t pass so I guess it makes sense he was not worth all that money
He's never played center in his entire basketball career even since he was in his mother's womb. Makes the entire video a complete joke. He's a fucking forward it takes 2 second google search to find that out, clear you get all of your opinions from others and the Internet because you know you know almost nothing about basketball itself. Hilarious
This channel is always so negative, did Memphis give up on JJJ or did Utah take a chance on him?
Why do you keep calling him a center. He’s a power forward
What truly bugs me is why Utah Jazz is giving away 1rd picks after tanking for the past 3 decades
He's a 4 but to this day I can't explain how the man can't rebound, it makes no sense
his contract is shit, he does nothing at high level
Bro doesn't like contact
Probably because that giant yellow arrow floating over his head was too distracting
Judging on ur video he can't shoot 3s consistently and he can't finished at the rim. I wonder where he gets his points lol
I think they’re clearly building around the coaches vision. He wants to run rotations that potentially play all 13 actives. Cant really pay max dollars to a player that’s only going to get 20-25min of run per game and I don’t think any max player would be satisfied with that situation. It might work during the regular season, but I don’t see that strategy working in the playoffs(if they ever get back there).
Jesus loves you and may God bless you
on the jazz he's just a tree in the forest, not the forest 🙂 can't wait 🙂
They found out about his other job as Jax Slayher
So glad the Celtics didn’t take Jackson Junior no way his contract was not worth taking because it will put them over the second apron in and also averaging five rebounds a game and not a good fit within the system
What’s the difference between JJJ and Naz Reid
He would fit in pretty good though with what Utah has in the front Court. If Walker Kessler gets back from injury and is in his usual form he is a rebounding machine and you have another 7-footer with Markenen. If he's just a power forward and a stretch big that could work out pretty good. It gives Utah some front Court defensive chops which is something that they are sorely missing. He blocks a lot of shots and so does Kessler. It might work in Utah.
AS A GRIZZLIES FAN WE NEVER NEEDED JAREN FOR REBOUNDS I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY PPL THINK THAT EVEN MATTER😂
The fact that JJJ despite being a former DPOY, is a horrendous rebounder for his size in his position absolutely baffles me. 🤣
Hes build like a big, but has the mentality of a guard
Folks seem to not understand his deal. Pair him with a true anchor big, and let him switch everyone and play weak side help defense. Doing this with Steven Adams is what won him DPOY, and after a year of test smallball, the Grizz realized this was for sure the case; it's why they got Edey. If you're getting him to be a traditional center and don't plan on playing a pure 5-out, you're just using the wrong tool for the job.
In what world is Bane worth 4 first round picks lmao no wonder Orlando is a trash franchise
He stopped working on his game.
7 footer who grabs fewer rebounds than some wing players….🙄🙄🙄🙄
the jazz just want to tank his knee injury isnt anything crazy
Memphis still loves JJJ sure he can rebound but if he has that true rebounding Center he will prosper
softest dpoy oat
