Luka is pretty much an even less athletic version of Harden, except he is better in that he doesn't vanish in the playoffs. He can easily win rings, but they have to build around him properly and so far they have not. It's only been a year though, and they have been trying to deal with the LeBron situation in that time so the new ownership should come in and have far more clarity now that LeBron is basically done. It would be best for Luka and the Lakers if LeBron left, best for LeBron too. Then they could use that cap space and get some really good wings who can shoot and defend, and a real defensive minded big man.
I also think they need to trade AR as he and Luka are just not a good back court, they are too unathletic and poor defensively and overlap too much, same weaknesess. AR is their best reade chip to get the RIGHT players around Luka. If they put the right players around him that can cover for his weaknesses, he is such an offensive force that I think the Lakers could win titles for sure with him. But they have to focus on depth and versatility, not just having another star. If they can get Giannis, that would be a great start but they would have to fill out the team with very solid role players and they cannot do that if LeBron is there and if they pay AR 50M a year. Luka is who he is, a generational offensive talent that needs the ball and to run the show. So this is all on the front office now to build it correctly around him, and letting LeBron walk and trading AR would be the best moves they can make. Luka can lead a team to rings, he is that good but changing his game is not going to happen. It has to be from the way the team is constructed around him.
Cover new topics. Talk about the rising of the pistons (Cade becoming a superstar) big topic. Ant Man such a star now. This incoming college draft is one of the best drafts ever.
