  1. Mailbag:
    Hey Jason, love the show.

If the Nuggets and Spurs met in the playoffs, what do you think San Antonio's defensive game plan should be for Jokic? To me, a double-big look makes some sense, as you can have Kornet play Jokic on the ball with Wemby roaming off one of Denver's weaker shooters.

Jokic might be one of the few guys who I could see having success 1 on 1 against Wemby, so having Kornet take that matchup while Victor shuts off the rim seems like potentially a good option to me. But at the same time, Denver's roster this year has less guys you can leave alone from 3, since Gordon and Watson have improved so much from deep in the last couple seasons.

Interested to hear your thoughts on how you think the Spurs should try to disrupt Jokic, since we haven't seen these teams play each other with a healthy Wemby yet this year.

  2. Spurs fan here. Nobody would say spurs would be fighting for leagues best record with a new coach, new rookies, and young Wemby and young castle.

Jason you are doing great! I think you have some of the best ball wisdom online. Great content

  3. Love your list! I dont get to see too many of them very often (quite a bit of Stephen Castle) but I see their numbers and they are clearly making an impact. Good to see them getting recognition.

  4. Mitch Johnson needs some praise. He is really doing a great job with lineups and rotations. He bench Castle for Harper with 5 minutes it won the game.

  5. tbh u continuously were putting the rockets who were obviously trash over the spurs for months, even after the spurs beat okc multiple times along with every team in the top 10, just felt delayed for you to admit how good the spurs have been, probably why their fans were annoyed about it. again the rockets have been awful and I hate nothing more in this world than watching their sorry offense.

  6. Found your channel a few months ago, and you do awesome work bro. I too am a diehard Spurs fan and didn't know how I'd feel listening to a Lakers fan takes 😆 I feel like I learn more about the game when listening to your videos. Don't listen to the internet tough guy Spurs fans. Any honest Spurs fan will tell you they thought we were likely somewhere between 5-8 going into the season. Makes this season so much more fun considering the expectations

  7. no legit spurs fans are ragging about preseason picks, huge cringe energy from those giving you crap tbh

  8. Spurs fan here. Nobody expected this. Nobody thought Castle would take this massive of a leap, Harper looking like a vet most of the time, and most importantly Fox filling in all the gaps instead of trying to be a star exclusively like his contract would allow. Kornet has also been night and day compared to Collins in a way that’s even beyond his individual talent.

  9. I remember this guy D riding the Lakers when Luka joined them.
Oh boy have the tides have turned lol
    210 Spurs đŸ’Ș

  10. Jason….please please PLEASE don't bring on Nick Wright. I don't want to have to skip a video of yours. I'm a Celtics' fan and I still listen to your reasonable and rational takes on other teams. Don't bring on that idiot, please.

  11. A lot of people won’t even address it lol, but I had them around the six seed. Was hard to predict! Love the work as a spurs fan

  12. Yeah as a spurs fan everyone had them between 6-9 in standings. I told my friend I thought if they reached their ceiling they would be 3rd in the west and 55 wins. Even my ceiling was too low! Crazy!

  13. As a spurs fan before the season, I saw this spurs team being a play-in team with a possibility of a 6th seed at best. I’m very impressed on what they’ve accomplished so far and can’t believe they’re a championship contender this soon. Keep up the good work Jason

  14. The problem Jason with your Spurs view at the beginning of the season, is that it was shortsighted and you were popularizing narratives that you should know are idiotic. Such as trading Fox before the season, going all in on Giannis. If you have the platform to be able to say things, we are able to have the platform to throw it in your face every year how little faith you had in this team. You don't get to just change your mind because someone is good and have zero accountability

  15. 20:28 As a casual this show and others like this is how I consume basketball. Watching it is hard so here and other interesting NBA shows is where I get insight casually.

  16. Spurs fan here. I thought they could hit 45-50 wins for the ceiling—but nothing like this. Think we’re all just as surprised as you, Jason they’re THIS good. Don’t know how far they’ll go, but if a chip is there for the taking, you go for it, no matter how ahead of schedule it seems. Getting real old school, Duncan-vibes from this squad, reminding us just how valuable it is to have an elite shot blocking 5 out there the way we did w/Duncan and Robinson. Ready for the run!

  17. Remember that story of Landry Fields going to Trae Young in Atlanta at one point, trying to appeal to him to be a better leader, try harder on the defensive end etc
and getting reamed and cussed out? Contrast that w/Fox, who came in and completely subsumed his ego (after being a 1st option averaging 26 a night these last 4 years) playing off-ball a lot, trying hard to fit in, play a role? That alone might be worth a max deal. Fox willed them to that win last night.

Extremely rare for stars, especially in their prime, to buy in and commit to that. It doesn’t happen—usually stars have to be in their 30s to do that. And here he’s taking a backseat to younger guys! It’s just another reason why this team is special.

  18. Jason, some of us Spurs fans are nuts. All I wanted for this season was for the team not to suck, at least make the playoffs and no more lottery. This season has been like a dream. They’ve exceeded all expectations. We welcome anyone to jump on the bandwagon. Come on board, sir!!
