I really dont like this direction…All this for some medicore young guy from draft. Best players should be Buzelis and Giddey…prospect and guy which can be second or third good player. Giddey is good player, but not frenchise player. Young prospects is meh. There is NOTHING to look forward. Only way i see is, let everybody go away and get some free agents, but that isnt good way too. I really cant see how they will be better. Even if they will be lucky on draft and get top4 pick…nothing change. They started tankin, but they doin it late and they dont have prepared vision for the team. I dont know. Even if there was no success last seasons i had always somebody which i root for. I liked that short burst o quality until lonzo get hurt, i liked Zach and Demar(maybe not so much togheter:)). I enjoyed nearly half of season when Coby was excelent and looked like he can be no.1 on the team. I belived that ayo can be very good player for us. Maybe most win type player on the roster…and they trade him for nothing….another small guard(Yuki can do same things; Jones can do it better and i would trade him when he is high on value because his contract/production). It is hardest time to be Bulls fan. If i would buy a jersey, i dont know which number and name on it:(

I see a world where the Bulls go under the pelicans, griz and mavericks. Look mavs and griz play, someone needs to win. We have the toughest schedule
The best scenario for me (other than obv getting number one) is:
1. We get pick 2-4 and draft one of Dybantsa, Boozer or Wilson and pair them on the wings with Buzelis
2. Portland make the playoffs through the play in. We get between pick 16-18 and trade it to Phoenix along with some salary filler for Mark Williams in a sign and trade given that he’s a free agent.
3. Use our high second round pick to hopefully pick up Henri Veesar as a back up stretch center if he’s still available.
We had a good supporting cast roster. We needed to use draft picks and salaries for a star, even a stretch star like Zion or a step a to step b player like MPJ you'd upgrade again later.
Better teams pulled our supporting players like Ayo and Coby into their building projects giving us a mixed bag of crap in return.
What we are doing now isn't tanking. Tanking gives you a great shot at a top pick. What we are doing now is simply LOSING with no point to it and unlikely good outcomes. We need a lottery moon shot.
In the first round, best player available regardless if we have one or two picks. Second round Europe Joker type of find AK type of connections
I have been living in the draft mock room and been doing a looooot of research on this draft. A quick overview is this. We stay at 9, we have a good chance of getting Acuff, Wagler, or Ament. All potentially All-NBA kind of players. Gotta bet on talent with that 9th pick. If our Blazers pick converts than we are COOKING. Let's say it is 16 in the draft, then we could get someone like Koa Peat, Jayden Quaintance He is injury prone so very risky or we could get Patrick Ngongda or Aday Mara. All great choices for that 16 spot. Then with our 35th pick we could get Henri Veesaar or take a chance on another guard/forward like Dailyn Swain. But if we want to bolster our PF position we could go for JT Toppin.
This draft is STACKED. Like franchise players in the top 4, star players in the top 15. Yes top 15. and good role players all the way into the 30's. This is the draft that we want that Portland pick more than just about any other draft ever.
I would be ok with our portland pick being used on another guard or forward if we feel like we can get Walker Kessler in the off-season.
It all comes down to AK not being terrible at drafting talent, so I'm sure he'll mess up. But man, there. is so much talent that I feel like even HE could fall into talent like he did with Matas.

Honestly the NBA would make more money if they gave the Bulls a top 3 pick in this years draft. We deserve it for giving away our players for free to other teams.

I just don’t understand the point? Tanking is a joke. It doesn’t work the majority of the time. It’s easy to look at Spurs and think the Bulls can pull that off. But that was a fluke. And the spurs are a much better organization. Not to mention we tanked way too late. We traded away two players that should have been part of the new build, just so we can draft somebody else, develop them, and do it all again? This organization needs a winning culture. Needs to show loyalty to players that work hard like Ayo and Coby, like they showed to the most toxic dude for close to a decade in Lavine. No superstar will come to Chi with this type of culture.

And they got lucky with Ayo.
It’s a mess but if I’m the GM… Hartenstein in FA at Center and I’m drafting his backup on a rookie deal. I’m good on all of our SG and I’m going after two way guard Grimes if you can get him on a favorable deal as my second option. There’s no way that I’m keeping Ivey, Simons or Sexton at the two and we need defense. The Bulls can’t afford to miss in the draft or in FA.
We have depth at PG in Jones and Dillingham ( a project you don’t have to worry about until 2028) but need that two way guard at the two.
