Bulls Fans Were Sold a Lie

Bulls Fans Were Sold a Lie

There’s one word that brings hope and strikes terror into the hearts of every experienced sports fan: Rebuild.

The optimism comes from an obvious place. But there’s another side of the spectrum.

The other side is a blueprint for the destruction of a fan base. The only way to turn collective passion into shared apathy. And this past deadline, we watched that depressing journey reach its uninspiring conclusion in the basketball holy ground of Chicago.

We’re sorry Bulls fans. This will be a painful video.

  1. You forgot to mention things were so bad that the fans put together a pool of money to create a billboard to "Fire GarPax"

  2. Have to buy something to be sold something. I dont think 95% of Bulls fans believed anything coming from this front office since they fired Thibs.

  3. I’m a Bulls fan and a Cowboys fan, and the Bulls are the Dallas Cowboys of the NBA the same way the Cowboys are the Chicago Bulls of the NFL.

  4. I knew since Hoiberg was our coach that LaVine was not a good player. I hate that mf so much for wasting EIGHT fvcking years of my life. If it wasn’t for Rondo’s thumb, we would’ve spanked Boston and met LeBron in the ECF.

  5. This is Karma for what they did to Jerry Krause widow. Booing her. For their love of Jordan. Who didn’t even show up. They were still booing after she was crying. Low class fans deserve a dumpster fire for a NBA team. The video is hard to watch. Bulls fans are more trashy than Eagles fans. And that says a lot.

  6. I can’t even find the games on TV, I think I gotta pay an extra thing, I haven’t seen the game all season

  7. I have stopped watching basketball. I’ll watch the playoffs. But I have a kid with another on the way. I will not waste my time on a Reinsdorf owned team.

  8. Both the Sox and the Bulls have no shot until Reinsdorf is gone. What a turd. Makes it impossible to watch either of these incompetently run organizations, no matter how much I love them.
At least there's a light at the end of the tunnel for the White Sox with the sale by 2029, it feels like the Bulls are stuck in purgatory forEVER.

  9. Born and raised southwest side Chicago (60629) and if they don’t luck into the GOAT and DRose this organization might be thought of as the worst in sports. Ownership is an absolute joke. Sadly, they’ll be just like the blackhawks. Someone will have to pass away before it gets any better.

  10. The reality is that the ownership is cheap. They always have been. They didn't pay Jordan until has last year, they screwed Pippen on his contract, and were only good later because they lucked into Derrick Rose, and their picks turned out to be good. If you watch this franchise, they consistently try to sign bargain players, and latch onto rookie deals, and let guys go when they need to be paid (which makes Patrick Williams baffling). They only signed Giddey because without any kind of marquee player, the stadium would be empty. This is a franchise that will always betray its fans, until the team is sold.

  11. As a former bulls fan they will never win another championship because of the Micheal Jordan curse they ran the greatest player of all time outta of the game

  12. They obliterated the 2025-26 team for scraps and a bunch of 2nd round picks. Stop attending games at the UC. Hit management in the pocketbook. Boycott the Bulls!

  13. Denzel Valentine was such a huge miss for the bulls as well during this era. Guy was legit unplayable yet they kept putting him out there. Compound that with the Patrick Williams overreach and Zach Lavine empty stats and everyone knew the bulls were gonna be stuck in mediocrity. Worst part is, ownership is fine with that since they get to host a play in to get tons of quick ticket sales and then lose meaning they don’t have to sign anyone to a super max (not that any of them deserved it). Fuck GarPax and Fuck Jerry, sell the damn team Jerry.

  14. None of the Bulls core players were elite and none of them played defense. Billy Donovan isn’t a top level coach. That’s a recipe for mediocrity. They also stayed put way too long and held on to these mediocre assets until they were at their lowest value. Just a badly mismanaged franchise with a bad owner.

  15. It's so bad you didn't even mention Patrick Williams 😭😭😭

I agree with the guy at the start – the Bulls have sapped my will to even watch pro basketball. No point when your team is aimless and dogshit

  16. Bulls & Tennessee Vols fan — neither have truly sniffed their former glory in my entire lifetime (26 yr). Sports are just pain, man

  17. To me the saddest part of all is that when they do have something to build,b they go ahead and trade their stars. Year after year. OKC was nothing in SGA's early years. They gradually got better to the point where they are World Champions. They built around SGA and got rid of those who didn't fit.
It looks like after a few years their star players aren't a fit anymore and they are traded.

  18. They had injuries that blew their chance. As soon as it went behind paywall, I don't watch.

  19. It’s weird, I dipped out of the NBA for a couple of months, back when they still had a winning record. So to come back and see them end up in 12th gave me vertigo lol

  20. As a bulls fan we had our time in the 90’s and when Derrick rose brought excitement back. It’s been rough but look at other franchises who never had a run. It goes like this in sports. Every franchise will have their moment. I can never switch up on my team just because they’re losing now.

  21. I feel for Bulls fans. As a Blazers fan, our prior GM wasted Dame's prime and never put the right pieces around him. We never really make deadline trades nor take big swings, and it is very upsetting.
