That hhhmmmmmm is exactly how I felt after the Knicks Wolves games. I had checked out of the lakers for a month now. Still following you, Jovan and Trevor, but not watching the games. Too many embarrassing moments where it’s whack a mole. I’m curious like you if the lakers can just put together the pieces at the same time
Seeing Jason defend our goat like this just brings a smile to my face. Never understood why people thought Lebron couldn’t adjust to circumstances, especially at this age, he’s been wanting a step back since AD was supposed to be 1A
On the JB foul – I wish refs would cleanup up the 2-hand contact defense. Refs don’t call anything unless the offensive player falls down, so JB has to fall and hope the ref calls a foul.
The whole play, castle has 2 hands on JB. He’s even wrapping both hips and then 2 hands on the back. Refs should draw a clear line and call fouls on 2 hands to the body. Defenders can easily adapt and stop using 2 hands.
Across the league, defense is getting extremely handsy and refs call fouls for guys who are good at selling contact. Guys who play through contact are at a disadvantage. I want to watch guys playing through contact.
So let’s draw a hard line and say no grabbing the ball handler with two hands. Don’t force the offensive player to flop.
Basketball needs a penalty box.
Lebron was not marginalising Reaves?
Also Lebron shooting 21 shots for 20 points, don’t take us for fools
When the Lakers are playing well it's Austin and various role players responsible for the wins. When they lose it is that bum Luka's fault. That is what I am hearing from most of the talking head discourse. No Credit for 33, 8 and 8 routinely but almost all the blame when they lose. I am not talking about Jason here but many of the national ESPN type
I disagree with your take on Brown: he probably insulted the ref and that should be enough to get a player ejected. Do that with Doncic every time he screams at the refs and he'll quickly amend his ways. Impunity is what creates those behaviours. And Jaylen Brown has to learn to control himself. Ranting against a referee because a non-existent foul did not get called? That is unprofessional.
Antony Edwards needs more help! One man shows in the nba won’t get it done
It’s a shame Brown got tossed but he did go a little overboard. Spurs really impressive but as a Celtics fan my takeaway is without Pritchard and Brown we played them well. Fully healthy it would be a hell of a Finals.
Did it ever cross your mind Ayton and Reaves might be playing better BECAUSE LeBron is out? The coping sessions are getting funnier and funnier every time 😂
Not to nitpick, but your description of the Jalen Brown ejection is delusional. He was completely and utterly out of control and trying to physically confront the referees. He had two and sometimes three teammates holding him back and he pushed his way through them and two others had to grab him. When they ejected them they had an old man who's part of their staff try to walk him off the court thinking it would calm him down and he pushed the old man out of the way and started going at the referee again. I have literally never in my life seen anyone act worse toward the referees for such an extended amount of time and they were showing complete and total restraint by not tossing him earlier.
What's really funny is all the times you've criticized Dončić for arguing with the referees and this was 10 times worse than anything he's ever done. I guess Brown is out of the MVP race now since he can't control himself and hurts his team….😂😂😂
The real issue with LeBron in the lineup is the defence.
I agree with you on Wembys defensive stance. And last night was not a great defensive showing from him. He fell for about 5 pump fakes
Why all these guy are scared to mention the huge Leflop that Brown performed
The real issue with LeBron in the lineup is the defence.
You just have too many bad defenders playing big minutes 😢
It’ll take until the end of the season for these guys to see what we see with Lebron. It’s all good.
it's great to hear a smart person talk about the Lebron situation. To think they'd be worse with the greatest player in history on the court (even at 41) is a weird take.
Wemby got face Punch 😂
He literally talked about two games and the first part of a 40 minute video was 24 minutes. Y’all are so freaking weird when it comes to Bron. Lol
Guys, the issue isn't fit. It's an old man and his 50 mil pension taking up cap space. I'll take the Lakers seriously next year.
JASON, RON HARPER JR MADE 2 3PT SHOTS OVER WEMBY

Just here to dislike 👍
He’s so angry about the Lakers success recently
Mailbag: Hey Jason, to your point about Tatum and the tough shots he’s been taking since his return. Yes a lot of them are bad and granted you have stated Tatum is a rhythm player as well meaning he gets hot and more efficient once he in a flow. But do you think you are disregarding basketball balance when evaluating Tatum coming back from injury. It’s one thing to condition, strength train, but balance in basketball when you’re getting chased off the three point line and you’re a player that shoots off the dribble a lot. He as to relearn that and get to a spot where he can play more on balance and that takes time. Give your opinion on that please, i wanna know what you think.
I’m just here for all the grown men crying about LeGoat 😂
Preach Jason
20:06 Tatum has always loved his tough shots way more than he should. The excuse used to be that nobody else could score so he had to but that's been proven false this year.
Dude the defense is better without LeBron.
Finally able to add a theory to this Wemby conversation as it relates to him overplaying the perim,I think he needs a bigger gaurd to roam and that allows him to sit and just clean up the funneling
Wemby Castle Bryant is a elite group of defensive gaurds. Should all get the lions share of minutes against teams like Celtics Denver Wolves Knicks and Suns(If Brooks plays)
Lakers looked good
Facts about your perspective on the Lakers
Your argument about Austin and LeBron does not make any sense. First of all, how many games were there that Austin and LeBron played together? As I remember correctly, LBJ was injured for most of the time and Austin also built his rhythm without the brightly shining star of his 41-year-old colleague. Secondly, the mental side of things. LeBron has certain gravity to his presence that might disrupt players like Austin. The decision making is completely different. I imagine that LBJ gets in the way of "making the right play" by other players, because, let's say, he didn't get the ball for too long and his teammates might pass to him out respect. Thirdly, Rui is a shooter. LeBron is not. Passing to Rui often makes more sense than to LeBron who will often initiate another play and then there is the problem with lack of shooters… Please, LeBron could work as bench / end of regulation type of addition. Not Austin! We all know that, elephant in the room, reason why Lakers have no chances to get pass 2nd round and they would still not be amazing if LBJ became the 6th man.
JB leads the league in drives per game and in 57 mins vs the spurs this season JB had ZERO total FTs vs the spurs 😐
The refs ruined the spurs Celtics game. Should not have thrown Jaylen out.
This guy shits all over Luka for complaining to the refs but defends JB for screaming at them and trying to assault them, getting ejected and losing his team an important game
Jason you’re talking me into believing the Lakers are a better matchup for the Spurs than the Wolves in the second round. I agree. LeBron as a third option is not bad if he accepts that role.
Great analysis and explanations on Wemby.
But will LeBron come off the bench to be a role player?? I’m not sure he will.
I doubt that the ref's mission statement is what you claim. Jalen Brown was out of control and shoving his own teammates out of the way to get at the ref; this idea that players can go telling refs to go f**k themselves, what Brown did, is never going to be acceptable. The fans getting what they want, essentially your argument, should not be 'what they are there for.'
Mailbag: Shouldn’t you be able to challenge ejections??
MAILBAG: Hey Jason, been a fan since 2022, my favorite basketball show! My question is about Shai: I’m a diehard basketball fan, but Shai is just a tough watch. He’s a great shot maker and looks like an elite playmaker, but his game is just not fun for me. Sure the free throws are brutal, but it’s really just his approach. It feels like his game is centered around game and rule manipulation, not the art of basketball. When I’m asked why the NBA’s popularity is down, I think a reason is because the best team’s best player is not fun to watch, (plus he’s not a dynamic personality). Do you think Shai is capable of producing a lot of diehard fans of the sport, like a Magic, MJ, Kobe, Lebron, Shaq, Curry? I doubt because he’s not a highlight-reel athlete and that’s always been a sell, but what do you think? Would love your take cause your basketball iq is higher than mine!
MAILBAG: Jason wishing to marginalize LeBron so bad from the start of the season, that's ridiculous. Jason talking about how many times they won with Austin being 20+ ppg, we'll guess what, it happened to coincide with the beginning of the season when DA was crushing it and he's back to playing well now. Attributing LeBron's 20+ games to more usage was also ridiculous because (a) LeBron has literally been a more efficient scorer overall than both Luka and Austin this season and (b) if someone's points, assists, etc. come from their high usage that's Luka, saying something like that about LeBron is downright ridiculous. Austin Reaves just grew more on Jason than LeBron now and Jason just wants to marginalize LeBron for the sake of Austin. 🥱
Jalen brown was going out of his mind. Chasing after the ref screaming when he didn’t even get fouled at all. Wemby got uppercut in the nose for no reason in the first 5 minutes and he just went about his business once he could stand.
Great show as always Jason!! Just wanted to throw this stat out…AR’s averages against Minnesota this season: 28ppg, 11.6apg, 5rpg. Minus any injuries, I believe he’ll be great this post season
Seems like ant only tries vs people who he thinks people’s think who’s better than him
16:00. Your take is what is wrong with American society. Your point is that rules should change to benefit star players. Your point is that TV viewership should change the rules of games. Your point is that the system should excuse threatening and abusive behaviour. Every parent and teacher knows that if you excuse poor behaviour, it gets worse. Sports fans, there is a link between this take and the fact that PDF files run the country.
I was pissed that Brown got ejected and took some talent out of the game BUT I was pissed at Brown for losing his mind. Over what? A little shove. Why isn’t mental strength a more important part of being a star?
15:50 if that’s a foul then Hauser needs some time in solitary confinement after hitting wemby. Although, if it’s not a foul I would lie a flopping fine added to JBs tantrum.
Hey Jason – Is Luka complaining after literally every single play something we will just need to accept?
