I think we need to be realistic here: The Playoffs are a different beast. Spurs are on their first playoff run collectively. They have a young core. I just donโt think they have the experience to make a deep run. They remind me a lot of the 2023-24 OKC Thunder team that was on top of the West but lacked playoff experience. And that showed when they lost to Dallas in the second round of the playoffs that year.
Donโt get it twisted, Wemby and the Spurs are great. I just donโt think itโs their time yet.
Another question is can Wemby and the Spurs handle the physicality of the Playoffs? Wemby is very injury prone. Any center that is capable of scoring and playing great defense can shut Wemby down if heโs not physical enough.
Wemby should be league MVP. He means the most to the league right now, and he's also on a sneaky good team.
2025: The thunder need to slow down and win in the postseason before we crown them.
2026: The Spurs are finals bound and are gonna win it all!!
