SPURS POSTCAST: GUT-WRENCHING!! Jokic, Nuggets Snap 11-G Win Streak as Wembanyama & Fox Falter Late
Casey Viera and NBA champion Devin Brown recap the Spurs’ heartbreaking overtime loss to Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets, ending Victor Wembanyama and San Antonio’s 11-game win streak.
In their first meeting of the season, Jokic got the better of his fellow All-Star center, notching 40 points, eight rebounds and 13 assists. Jamal Murray added 15 points and 10 assists for Denver who has won eight-in-a-row.
Wembanyama totaled an impressive 34 points, 18 rebounds and five blocks but missed the game-winning jumper at the end of regulation and was limited to only two shot attempts in the extra frame.
De’Aaron Fox struggled with 14 points on 7-of-19 shooting while missing all six of his three-point tries. Stephon Castle logged a 20-point, nine-assist afternoon.
San Antonio opens the final four-game home stand of the regular season on Monday, hosting Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and the Philadelphia 76ers.

Wemby blocked Joker Wemby played well the Spurs loss in Denver by 2 big deal. If the Spurs hit a couple of more shots they missed they win
30 bricks out of 45 3 pts shots (15/45)…. Despite Wemvp and the greatness of this team, the Spurs lost because of one lesson they still haven’t learnt since October despite many opportunities they had to learn it: the Spurs are an average 3 pts shooting team who cannot afford to shoot 45 3s per game and jack up 30 of them. I am almost 100 percent sure that if the Spurs had capped their 3s at 30 shots, they would have won by at least 7 to 12 points because they were the better team, by a stretch. The Spurs need to be honest with themselves about 3 pts shooting and use more two of their key strengths, which are the variety and efficiency of their 2 pts shots. In short, my message to the Spurs is: be humble about your weakness at 3 pts shooting, and I mean really humble, and you'll be champions. You have 0 time to lose to learn this lesson. Does it mean mixing old-school and new-school basketball? You bet it does!

Someone said it well after the Denver loss: Fox is insanely talented, but players who grow in weak systems can miss key fundamentals. When they’re asked to operate in a detailed, disciplined scheme, the gaps show. His touch, defense, and handle aren’t where they should be — and it’s tougher when he’s viewed and paid as a star.
Watching C.Braun shoot practice 3's.UNCONTESTED..and KJ TOTALLY wetting the bed..time after time after time from 3 was the OBVIOUS difference! Also disappointed inFox at the end! NOT worried at all…It was good to see JC step up from 3! VERY GLAD if we do see Denver at some point that we have HOMECOURT= That reallly is HUGE!!!!

Winning is a habit…so is LOSING! We need to get this STINK out of our mouths right away and pound PHILLY at HOME on Monday! I don't want to hear yet about REST! OKC does not have it locked up yet…even though getting #1 seed doesn't look good! There will be plenty of time to REST! Keep in mind…the pay-in games take almost a week! Players need to play…FOCUS on the now…MONDAY…get a convincing win!

After OKC plays the Creampuff Jazz tonight…they have to go on the road…and play 3 good TEAMS that are TRYING!!!!!! at Lakers…At Clippers…AT DENVER…before they come home andplay the SUNS in the season finale! SPURS…DO NOT take your foot off the GAS and REST until it's OFFICIALLY over…don't tell me that OKC can't lose games to those teams on the road!! DO NOT CONCEDE!!! This lose is only defined by the overreaction by the Haters. This Game was practice. Every game with the Spurs. Start with not making the playoffs last year. This year the fear is real and everyone is grasping for straws. No matter how they lose. They already made the playoffs this year. First year in the playoffs. Don’t listen to Haters.
