SPURS POSTCAST: VICTOR WEMBANYAMA’S INJURY Overshadows 60th Win, Stephon Castle’s Big Night vs 76ers
Casey Viera and NBA champion Devin Brown recap a 115-102 Spurs victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, clinching their first 60-win season since 2016-17 despite losing Victor Wembanyama due to injury.
San Antonio’s Frenchman did not return in the second half after colliding with Philadelphia’s Paul George, subsequently suffering a rib injury. Wembanyama totaled 17 points before his exit.
Stephon Castle recorded his fifth-career triple-double, notching 19 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists while Dylan Harper added 17 off the bench.
De’Aaron Fox and Keldon Johnson each scored 13 for San Antonio, who becomes the eighth team in franchise history to crack the 60-win plateau.
Joel Embiid scored 34 points and grabbed 12 rebounds while Tyrese Maxey added 15 for the 76ers in defeat.

the Wemby injury just before the playoffs, was so predictable…….ffs
Stephon Castle dribble game has improved drastically… Eventually he's just going to become unstoppable, especially when he starts hitting elbow mids and Post up on smaller guards to seriously open up shots around the perimeter because you have to double team him. Similar to Mark Jackson and others.

Rib bone bruise is no big deal unless it was severe. Super painful for sure no matter how severe. I've had that injury. This will probably be a pain tolerance thing. Bone bruises are slow to heal. So he'll have to play through pain for the next few months. But it won't limit him too much.

The Spurs played very well without Vic and if Victor only misses one playoff round, they can play as a good playoff team with Kornet as a classic Center and win a 1st playoff round. Hopefully Victor will be back no later than late April…
Very strong defense by the Spurs against Philly and Castle is ready to be a leader as impactful as Derrick Rose 🌹. I heard Devin make the comparison with Jason Kidd and I agree in terms of leadership and ability to get triple double every other game. But in terms of pure skill and athleticism as well as mindset on the court, Stephon reminds me more of DRose. Devin played with him… What about this comparison?

Get our MVP his one game against the Mavs. Play minimum minutes he needs and rest him for the Playoffs. Looks like Denver is locked in to the 3rd seed so there's no need to go hard on the last game of the season.
