I'm thinking we might be 90% healthy in second round, bring on OKC!
Pistons are the #1 seed.. tuff
Let's stay at 3.….get our revenge against Minnesota and take that momentum to face spurs then OKC
SA is already great,& will be a very tough out. And they are gonna be awesome for a long time. Wemby might win 3 straight rings (& maybe 3 straight MVPs)-starting NEXT YR. They'll likely be my preseason title pick next yr.And Wemby might dethrone team USA at LA Olympics-its gonna be his basketball world very soon. But not this yr-just as I told people about 1 seed OKC 2 yrs ago. And as I've told people in my 49 yrs on earth watching the nba-about many other other young talented teams in their 1st playoff run (including 2019 Nuggets who lost to a less talented but more playoff experienced Portland in game 7 at home).
It's not a guarantee or insurmountable but playoff experience & veteran leadership does matter in every sport,& even more so in the NBA playoffs than other sports. (including the benefit of doubt veteran teams get from the refs in the playoffs but that's not remotely the ONLY reason) Teams that young,& playoff inexperienced (especially in their VERY 1st run)-RARELY even get to the conference Finals let alone win a title. And OKC lost in 2nd round as I expect SA will. Especially if they play a relatively healthy Minnesota or Denver. Nuggets could easily lose 1st round. But if they survive it-i like their chances much better against SA than OKC round 2. I won't be picking the nuggets to beat OKC most likely but they have a shot.
But if they can end up 3rd,& survive 1st round-I will be picking the Denver-Minny winner to beat SA,& give OKC a helluva WCF battle-but probably lose. I probably won't pick them but if LAC find a way to get to the 7 seed-I expect they'll give SA all they want,& maybe even have a shot at a massive upset Nugs still have plenty of work for 3 seed,& I do think Minny is a tougher 1st round than Hou. But unfortunately probably have to get the tougher 1st round opponent to get my preferred 2nd round opponent. Minny catching Hou,& Nugs staying at 3 would be ideal but I think it's all but impossible Minny is anything but #6 now. But WCFs would be a great run,& as Ball arena employee-id be ecstatic if Nugs,& AVS could both keep us busy through 3rd round,& 1 could make the Finals-lol.
But at the end of the day the Nuggets will have to play OKC and the Spurs to make it to the Championship game.
I prefer Houston over Minn, but prefer Spurs over OKC in the second round…. Decisions, decisions. It doesn't really matter. Go Nuggets!
