The waiting on IU basketball to be relevant is over. The Iowa coach went to the elite eight in his first year Dusty May won a championship in his second. DeVries had his one year, we're not expecting a championship in 26/27. But if he doesn't take them to the NCAA tournament get him the fuck out of town immediately

I’m an IU football fan not an IU basketball fan growing up people would go on and on telling basketball stories about how we were the best at first I was like that’s great, but after a while I got pissed cause it started to sound like bragging the ship was dilapidated falling down around me and everyone just wanted to talk about the glory days, that’s their team their experience not mine, they got to ride the gravy train all I got was the coal that fell off the back and I’m tired of coal
I’m glad you’ve change your stance on Devies. I think we have two options either we hunt for a good coach with two year deals, or we do what Purdue has done and start from the bottom up bring guys in developing them and build a monster. What we’re not going to do is hire a coach, let him stay for five years, produce nothing, and leave with a bunch of money even though his only plan was go recruit one star player and have him carry the team/try to buy a roster.
At this point Ive given up on IU basketball they’ve proven to me that they’re too incompetent to get the job done. They can’t find a good basketball coach even when it’s handed to them and I don’t even think they can start from the ground up because I don’t think they can develop players. What have they done over the last ten years that has proven that they can develop players that can be successful the only good players that they’ve had were already great before they got to the team.
We need to face the fact that the program sucks and take our medicine and make some tough changes and move on from the Knight days, otherwise we’re just going to get more of the same and at that point burn the thing down and funnel the money into football give the program away to some nobody and market it as some golden ticket opportunity if you’re a small time coach looking for your chance to compete in the big leagues come on down to IU and take your shot at a one year no golden parachute deal if your successful you can stay and we’ll reward to handsomely, but if you fail there’s the door thanks for playing better luck next time.
Right now we’re a perpetual bubble team, which is a pretty good floor I’m positive that with a good coach we could become a perennial tournament team

With the 3 freshmen coming in might work well with Sisley but its still not enough. And the portal most of the big names wants to much NIL money i don't See IU spending that much, and some of them not only want NIL but also a program where they can win. Can't get that at IU with Devries, I said this before im saying it again. We past up Dusty May and kept Woodson for one more year stupid, and we had a chance to hire Ben McCollum but picked Devries, another stupid move, look what Ben done at Iowa his first year,!! Why is it when IU hires a new basketball coach we get the shit end of the stick,,,,,

Kent let me ask you this. Shouldn't the NCAA NIL money have a limit on how much a program can spend on a player because all I see from the players in greed and some of them aren't worth it,
If a basketball player wants more than 3 million he should be committed to the program for more than 1 year.
New NCAA rule for NIL any player wants 3 million should have a contract for more than 1 year

This is NOT on Coach DeVries. None of it is. Indiana had a chance to hire John Beilein – didn't do it. Had a chance to go after Dusty May – didn't do it. NEPOTISM killed this program.

Dolson never had an opportunity to hire Dusty May. Those two are friends and it would have absolutely happened. Blame lies squarely with Buckner and his "partners" who played a vile card forcing IU to give Woodson a 4th year he never came close to earning
It is really sad that DeVries only brought one player (his son) with him. Now so many players are entering the portal instead of staying at IU. It seems like the players are not buying into DeVries program.

I get the portal thing now. But come on you'll find a gem every now and again mid major but if were going to live off of transfers go get the guys from Duke, UNC, Michigan, Kansas, Ill. I mean come on most of these guys on the bench would start for 90% of the rest of college basketball!!!
