Oklahoma City Lands UFL Team: Mayor David Holt Announces Pro Football Coming in 2028
Professional football is coming to Oklahoma City.
Mayor David Holt announced the United Football League (UFL) plans to bring a team to OKC in the spring of 2028, marking a major milestone for the city’s new multi-purpose stadium.
Holt says the announcement validates the vision behind the MAPS 4 stadium project, which was designed to attract multiple events — including soccer, football, and major sporting events.
The new stadium is expected to open new opportunities for Oklahoma City, including:
• UFL spring football
• Soccer events and friendlies
• College bowl games
• Other major sporting events
Mayor Holt also discussed Oklahoma City’s growing sports momentum, including the Oklahoma City Thunder clinching the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference for the third straight season.
Football is coming to Oklahoma City — and the city’s sports future continues to grow.

Woohoo, UFL!
Oklahoma had the usfl back in 1984 Oklahoma outlaws played in tulsa
Driving downtown OKC is going to be more of a pain with the Coliseum going up as well as that new stadium
I don't go downtown, ever.
Minor league football will be a nice addition. I hope the stadium is a great success.
