RANDOM NOTES FROM SEEING NBA GAME COURTSIDE (ISH) Doug McDermott is a baller, it was super cool watching him play, clearly evident he is one of the best pure stroke kind of shooters in the NBA. Seth Curry looked so gassed out there it was honestly kind of embarrassing, you could tell watching that close that he was physically not at the same caliber as the other players on the floor. Clifford, no idea who he is was, but you all wanna know. Let me tell you. Best NBA frame on either team. That guy has a bright future. One defining play I remember, Clifford took Pat Spencer to the right (Wow its Pat Spencer big whoop right?) and Pat Spencer had to make contact but this guy was just too darn quick. The significance of that is, the average NBA player (in Pat Spencer) is not quick enough to get in front of or big enough to get in front of these guys. Podz lowkey cheesed a charge on Clifford, but his speed downhill is FRIGHTENING, easily on par with Malik Monk's, however, Monk just has so much finesse that the young Clifford will pick up with time. Steph Curry is way more buff than you'd expect, like he bigger than quite a few guys out there on the court. Really evident in person. Podz basketball IQ is extremely high which compensates for his mediocre lower half (really rooting for this guy but don't expect him to play more than 8-12) like you watch him and can tell his hips are tight AF causing him to move a bit stiff. Huge calves, athletic dude, insane athlete, but the tight hips limit him a bunch. He could be just as explosive or quick as others, but sometimes its just luck of the genetic draw or injuries, you never know. Killian Hayes has a place in the NBA. I have been rooting for this guy for a while, but he was one of the few impact players on the court on defense. It was incredible watching him use his frame and long wing span to get into some of the passing lanes and anticipate steals with good basketball IQ. Dray's passing ability stood out the most from his play. You honestly could tell he had the best passing vision on the court where he threaded the needle on a couple passes. The Warriors when they get going and start having fun can be deadly OR sloppy. The Kings have a bright future. I liked what I saw out of their big men especially. I think Maxine Raynaud has the flair to be a star in this league and the work ethic. He was the first one out the locker room at half time shooting and getting warmups in. Charles Bassey is an NBA center. For a while there I didn't know where he would end up or if he would find his place in the NBA, I remember him being on the Sixers and picking him up sometimes in NBA2K franchises, but that was about all the exposure I'd had to him before seeing him play in person. Honestly, impressive. Maybe just for this Warriors squad who hasn't had a center in…. god knows how many years now (BOGUT WHERE R U , STOP THE SMALL BALL).
