What is at stake for each Play In Tournament NBA Team?

Let’s start in the West:

The Suns need to prove that they can Survive post KD and that Devin Booker is still worth building around. If they somehow miss the playoffs, it might be time to really hit the reset button.

The Blazers need to decide what is more important: Ending a 5 year Playoff Drought and getting Playoff Experience early, or Keeping the Pick that would go to the Bulls in a historically loaded Draft. If they miss the playoffs they keep the Pick, if they make the Playoffs they lose the pick. Damian Lilard is back next season so either way the Blazers have a Bright Future.

The Clippers are Fighting to stop OKC from having a Monopoly in Basketball Talent. If the Clippers make the playoffs, the pick is at best the 15th overall selection or lower for the Thunder. If they miss the playoffs, the pick could land in the lottery, giving OKC a higher pick, potentially number 1 overall.

The Warriors are fighting to keep the Curry Era Dynasty alive, yes they are aging, but anything can happen with a healthy Steph Curry in a 7 game series.

In the East:

The Magic and Raptors are currently fighting to Avoid the Play in Tournament, no one wants to be in that position as the 6th Seed is still up for grabs, currently the Raptors have it.

The 76ers are trying to find a new identity in this “re-Tool” era, they did a soft rebuild as Joel Embiid is no longer their 1st option, but they don’t want to start the process all over again.

The Hornets are fighting to end the longest active NBA Playoff drought. They have not made the playoffs since 2016, a whole decade ago. Most of their current roster was in Grade School.

The Miami Heat are fighting to prove that their roster is still playoff worthy, and that they are one piece away in a good off season from being title contenders again. Heat Culture is not about taking.

  2. The suns would not hit the reset button lol they were projected to be a bottom 5 team. They have massively over achieved
