He was HIMMMMM in his younger days I remember wanting him real bad on the Nets when he entered the draft. So glad he's getting some real run now. Matas + Miller + potentially Essengue could be a really fun wing rotation for Chicago.
Also I def think he'll be 3-4 and not 4-5 in the future assuming Chicago keeps him, they just…..don't really have great centers on that team lol (and could also be intentional tanking, Brooklyn does the same with Chaney Johnson at the 5)
I like him better as a 3/4 instead of a 4/5, though he's a versatile and willing defender, he can give some minutes at all three positions.
Defensively, he's not really a center, that's the sticking point for me.
I don't buy that you can win without a big time defensive center, especially not with Jokic, Wemby, and Embiid terrorizing the league.
He can be OK at center against certain teams, but he might spend a whole playoff series not playing 5 at all.
On the other hand, I like him as a one on one defender against a lot of these big wings that play 3/4, he should be following those guys over to the 3.
