Here’s a scenario: the Sixers trade Embiid to another team
He avg 30pts 10 rbds .. places over 50 games and takes them to the conference finals while Sixers don’t make playoffs
How’s that gonna feel ?

Joel cannot be traded, despite my characterization of him being Selfish.

As long as the Sixers keep Joel, there will be talk of contending.
I want to keep Morey, as he has a built up a good relation with Josh Harris and I believe will have permission to spend up to the 2nd Apron for 26-27 season.
Fans don't understand that ability to spend up to the 2nd Apron is more important than changing GMs, assuming you don't like Morey, but not allowed to spend over the Luxury Tax. And Morey has plans of how to use the draft capital to get a difference maker. I want to keep Oubre and Grimes. Total cost could be 10 – 14 M to keep both.
I am afraid that Morey will fire Nurse just to put the blame on someone. Certainly with the Embiid sudden surgery, Nurse would easily get a job elsewhere.
I have plenty of complaints over Nurse, especially in handling of Embiid (shouldn't allow him to settle), Bona (should discipline him when he does stupid things like defend 35 feet from the basket or not focusing on securing the ball) and Grimes (ecounrage Grimes to be less unselfish and take high % 2s and not pass out of the paint so much).
But Nurse is liked by the players and has their attention, especially with good leaders on the team (Joel is not a leader off the court).
Getting a new coach usually means making player changes to satisfy the new coach and Morey would likely oblige.
Who pays 60 mil a year for a 3rd option?
If you're gonna dive into their chances, make sure you don't hit your head into the shallow end.
