Can the Timberwolves UPSET the Nuggets?

Can the Timberwolves UPSET the Nuggets?

The Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves are facing off against each other for the third time this decade in the NBA Playoffs. Every time they play it results in some amazing basketball and it feels like this series could be the same. Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and Anthony Edwards are three of the best offensive players in basketball with elite defenders like Rudy Gobert, Aaron Gordon, and Jaden McDaniels present too. It’s gonna be incredible.

  1. Not much of an upset, ant missed quite a few games, and they tanked into the 6 seed
    Minnesota will beat Denver again

  2. Nuggets in 5. Timberwolves not the team from past years, Nuggets have one of the best offenses in nba history this year.

  3. KAT mattered for this matchup. Gobert was able to free roam off jokic. NAW mattered for this matchup. He is great at staying attached through screens. Jaden and Ant are playing through chronic injuries right now. This should be a sweep. The wolves best chance as constructed was 24. Need to retool and move off Gobert next year.

  4. idc man…"can denver defend"? We saw in each of the OKC games in march that they can. Both games were in OKC's house and were down to the wire. So I think that nuggets in playoffs are closer to that. They will be on OKC's lvl more then when they played other teams. The only question, as every year, for nuggets is if they will stay healthy or not. Every year they find a way to be hurt, so thats a bug BUT.

  5. In all seriousness – the wolves are winning this in 5. If you watch any basketball you know that Denver will crumble under Minnesota’s physicality. Denver’s top guys are too soft.

  6. Nuggets in 6 is fair, but I wouldn’t say depth is in their advantage. After adding Ayo who might start this series, the Wolves have a really strong rotation with Naz Reid and Donte, in addition to TSJ and Beringer who may get some real playing time. TSJ is another slasher who’s built to take apart this Nuggets defense and Beringer is at least another big body to throw at Jokic with strong defensive instincts for such a young player.

I think it comes down to health, if Ant is himself it’s going to be a long series, I’d go Wolves in 6.

  7. If Wolves can't capitalize on the Nuggets lack of defense and having no rim protection then Nuggets is winning this series in 5 or 6.

  8. Love my team too much to not believe in them at this point. Had doubts for both Phoenix and LA in the first round and was proven wrong both times. This will definitely be the toughest of our first round series over the last few years tho

  9. Twolves prove time and time again that they can upset anyone, they are a dark horse wcf team but will get swept by okc when they make it there

  10. All of these previews keep talking about them not having Gordon for the one loss but not the Timberwolves missing Ant in one of theirs. Excited for the series though.

  11. Only way MIN has a chance is if the hospital nuggets keep running into additional injuries. I’d probably say DEN in 5
