  1. you're dumb if you think Lamelo was trying to injure him, "it was a non basketball play" how do you not realize that he wasn't making decisions chilling on a couch watching it in slow motion

  2. As a heat fan I’m glad we lost . 4th year in a row in play in basically the exact same spot 8-10 seed . Would have been the same as the last couple years as well minus 2023 were we just are out classed by the one seed and bounced in 4-5 games . I’ll take the lottery pick and hopefully we can finally land a star player or reset this team cause I can’t do year 5 of the play in Miami heat

  3. Dude ima say it, celebrating after a good play is good for the league. The NBA needs to figure out how to get it more into the game and not hinder teams in transition while celebrating, because celebrating brings viewers in because it’s fun. Things that ate fun are good for the game

  4. Kon it’s pretty bad when a team switches any screen he’s involved in. So he’ll either have to get better at that, or coaching needs to get better at getting him open.

  5. LaMelo generating “reaction” sounds like another made up that Nick Wright would hate 😭😭

  6. If Deni can get a little better on defense and in my opinion you move on from Sharpe for a better secondary ball handler I think this team could be a great team.

  7. I don't like that Bam was injured, but I'm glad the Heat are out. The Hornets saved us from having to endure any more of this boring a$$ Heat team that just seems to be content on being in that bottom seeding. Hopefully missing the playoffs will light a fire under the front office to make some moves.

As for the Blazers-Suns game. What can ya say other than Booker sh*t the bed late yet again. Idk what he was thinking holding on to the ball all shot clock to play hero ball only to miss the middy. Then Green… smh… he giveth and he taketh away. He played well all game only to take that boneheaded 3 when they were down by just 2.

  8. Ball is a losing player. He isn’t even out in the court at end of games not to mention he is a cheater and awful person. It’s amazing how cowardly podcasters and the media are when it comes to him hitting Bamm on purpose.

  9. Don’t let the Charlotte natives hear you say downtown. I moved here from Tucson and they damn near jumped me and said it’s called “UPTOWN”

  10. I can't believe the rockets didn't get Coby white.
So much better than any other guard available at that low price

  11. Mailbag:
If you are a Lakers GM would you swap : Bam – Ware – Norman P – Wiggins
for: Ayton – Hays – Rui – Reavs
and how that could change the Lakers chance to win it all

  12. I love the analysis on Lamelo, call it like you see it both in terms of his incredible talent and his incredible volatility

  13. Lets be real. Hornets shouldve lost and LaMelo been ejected.
That wouldve also probably helped him grow up and undesrstand this stuff hurts his chances. Instead he got away with it. Hope he grows up.

  14. Much love from Israel ! ❤️
Thank you thank you thank you for showing love to our boy who has went through this season very underrated and under appreciated.

He would have done this about 2-3 years ago had he not been picked by the joke of the NBA the Wizards.

I 100% agree and have been saying for a couple of years now that his ascension to the next levels depends on his 3pt shot. Doesn’t need to be 40% but be solid and consistent at around 36-37% on higher volume and he’s in the top 10 of this league.

    Love your pod !

  15. The Heat Culture shows the issue the league has with tanking. Spo does a great job competing every year regardless of the roster and is punished with bad draft picks. I think the teams outside of the playoffs should have a Play-in-like tourney to determine draft odds. Win-or-lose kind of games allow for every team to have a shot and there would be some kind of insentive to play serious even when they are bad. And it would be a damn spectatcle having bad teams absolutely brawl each other for the No. 1 pick.

  16. miami needs a hard reset. pat Riley and spoelstra are both upper tier hall of famers but something’s gotta change. idk if they change management and coaching, but they’re gonna stay like this until they commit to a hard reset.
i think one of the biggest missed opportunities of the last decade was miami not going after joel embiid when jimmy got there. idk how the money would’ve worked but i have always thought that embiid would’ve been great in miami. it would’ve been jimmy, bam, herro, and embiid.

  17. Miami can only get so far with their culture, they need talent like they had with their chips like Wade, Shaq, and Lebron. If they stumble on a top 5 or even top 10 talent like OKC did, they can fill in the gaps and actually compete.

  18. That was the most amazing play in first day ever, even better then those Laker 7th seed team. Timeout Jason got windhorst coming 😭 fuck it put Jason up vs Stephen A

  19. Heat can’t switch as good without Bam on the court I’m surprised it took the heat that long to switch to zone honestly .

  20. Mailbag: We are being too nice to these players, we are giving too many players labels like all star or all NBA even if they are not on the teams. Not including people excluded from injuries, you have to earn all NBA by making the team, if you get excluded from all NBA, then you aren't at that level, you could be close, but someone else earned it over you because they were better.

Also Deni was great in the play in but no way is he an all star and the post break stretch proved that. I forgot who was excluded but I know for a fact someone else deserved it over him.

  21. lavar has said since lonzo graduated chino hills, lamelo is gonna be the best player of the three, but lonzo is the one in the family that has what it takes to win. even tho lonzo hasn’t been healthy or what lamelo has been, i still think lavar was right

  22. Wow! As a blazer fan, I thought for sure you were going to get through the whole segment without talking about their game at all. Glad to see you had a few seconds at the end for some charity.

  23. What's interesting is that Lonzo was viewed so differently than LaMelo but yet wasn't even close to being as good as his brother in the league. DeMar DeRozan and other guys spoke of how good Zo was at leading and making smart plays. Imagine if LaMelo had that combined with his skill set 😳

  24. Born and raised in Charlotte always been a lakers fan.. but man I love this hornets team our city has been starving to support a winner

  25. I'm no fan of Dillon Brooks but I admire how he tried to do everything for his team to pull through. Avdija was just too good and Booker wasn't good enough.

  26. Some pointers you hadn't talked about

You talked about the lineup of holiday, deni, Camara, grant and Sharpe.
In the beginning of the season this lineup played a lot.
But the injuries kept that lineup away. Sharpe played just around 55 games, holiday missed 2 months, grant missed significant time, deni played just 66 games.
When Portland went to that lineup with 4 minutes left in game, the score was 105-97 to Phoenix. Which means that in less than 4 minutes, Portland finished the game on 17-5 run.

And about deni. In the last few weeks, he outplayed twice kawhi. 28 , 11 and 7 in LA and then 35 at home to close the regular season. Kawhi had 23 and 24 very silent points in those games.

And deni went into phoenix and looked at brooks in the face and basically smoked Brooks' reputation as defender who gets in your head. Brooks tried to be physical with deni and deni thrives when there's physicality.
Deni's performance was a mega star like performance. And it's funny because after the first quarter, deni had only 4 points

  27. 20:22 I can’t take Melo seriously as a player. Consecutive possessions in OT, he’s having a terrible shooting night, he kills the clock and takes a long 3 without putting any pressure on the rim or moving the ball. Then on defense, he falls asleep and gets burned on the cut. This is crunch time in the most important game of his career thus far. He’s an entertaining player, not a winning one.

  28. As a NC native who was at the game, I can’t remember the last time Charlotte had a crowd like that. Usually seats are cheap and you go to the game bc of the visiting team. I’ve been saying for years if the Hornets ever became relevant the city would turn out for the games, that game was a classic.

  29. In playoffs I’m typically really lenient on letting players play but I thought Melo shoulda been ejected for that dirty play on Bam.

  30. Lamelo’s dad is immature and hasn’t grown up. That’s been his example his whole life. He’s super talented but when that’s who his dad is he’s going to be immature.

GO BLAZERS! Man was that a wild game. Yes we will probably lose to SAS in 5 maybe 6 games but man that was a fun game

  31. The only thing I dont like about the Warriors/Hornets comparison is that Draymond Green is a very unique player who allowed their offense and defense to work the way it did
