ON THE BRINK: Orlando Magic cannot crack Philadelphia 76ers as offensive STRUGGLES continue
The Orlando Magic felt their process and effort were fine in their Play-In game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Yet the result remains the same. The Magic could not get their best players going and everything just seemed hard as they could not keep up with the Philadelphia 76ers.
In the end, Tyrese Maxey’s personal 7-0 run in the fourth quarter broke the game open, and Paolo Banchero and the Magic could not answer the bell. Everything for this Magic team is hard as all the troubles of the season collide in its dying breath.
The Magic now face a do-or-die game Friday against the Charlotte Hornets with everything on the line — their future and most of all pride as they try to salvage a season once filled with so much hope.

Put SGA on this roster the team isn’t going no where. The roster is horribly constructed with no shooters other than Bane and since they don’t defend they can’t win.
This team is not winning against the hornets, this team just didn’t have it this year. The season ends Friday. It’s for the best, time for major changes.
You nailed it in the first 10 seconds. You won't call out Paolo and Suggs for hogging the ball and the shots despite being terrible shooters. You are as bad as they are about being a repeat offender, and thinking nothing is wrong…and it's been happing all year. Paolo shoots 30% and you think all is normal because after 20 shots, he made 7 and scored 20 points. Bane hardly sees a play ran for him until 6:30 left in the 2nd QUARTER!!…and still has 19 in the half, but still not the focus for the team. Yet, they come out in the third, run 1 play to start the quarter and continue to go the next 8 minutes letting Paolo and Suggs jack up shots.

"The Magic had no answers" – Phillip. What are you talking about? Bane was the answer, he literally willed the team back in the game, and Black gave his best too. Stop saying Paolo is the Star of the team and the best player, he is not. He shoots 30% on non-layups but you and Mosely think that's okay because he scores 20 points….that's not a star, just a ball hog. We just watched Paolo and Suggs once again shoot 1-11 from deep, when they both have sucked all year shooting threes, and despite being terrible tonight too, they continued to hog the ball rather than give it to someone else. Just because they were the only option last year, doesn't mean they should have that same mindset THIS YEAR too! Suggs seems to shoot more frequently when he is colder like its a fun game to try and find his shot mid game.

If Magic fans simply ignore 12% FG percentage from these 2 starters, then everyone can discuss "other things" that Orlando didn't do right.

When the NBA expansion comes the Magic need to have everyone unrestricted able to be selected or just do major trades. Poalo is not a franchise player he is clearly a second option like Scottie pippen was to Micheal.
Trade Suggs he is not last player on earth that can play defense. Do not give AB a new contract see what his value is around the league first. Trade a Wendell and get a real center look at what Drummond did because he is down low more than sitting at 3.

Please get rid of suggs. We need a PG that can shoot and create. Can't just stand around and sometimes play defense. Bane cannot be the only shooter. Paolo has to play better as well. He is not walking in those superstar shoes that he is supposed to be in.

Maybe because the fact Franz at +1 had the best plus minus again despite playing injured. He needs to step up? You weren’t saying that until after 10+ games of Paolo coming back from injury. This has to be one of the dumbest and most stubborn franchises I have ever witnessed in all my years watching ball. Ive seen teams that were a laughing stock in perpetuity rise and win it all, players leave here and do the same while we are stuck in neutral. Weltman cannot get out his own way drafting for length instead of drafting what he needs. The inability to draft the right guards to fill the roster is evidenced by (4) 1st rounders for Bane. That's a direct indictment on that weakness. I don't blame Memphis for taking advantage of the Magic and that glaring weakness, a fool is born everyday. Teams like the Magic 🎩 ✨️ and like the Browns Jets etc are there for you to take advantage of.
The Core was -11, -14, -17. Only Franz had a +. We’re witnessing a team assembled with zero shooting in mind. Just the way the GM wants it.
Banchero reminds me of D12 so much, constantly fumbling the ball. It's uncanny. I hope he can fix his issues. If not, we may need to trade him.

This organization always targets soft players who can go along with our Disney image we need 10 more d banes players that's embarrassed to gets punked out…we give Franz different excuses every yr he has a glitch in his shot he's tired from playing on the German team he's playing injured he needs to step up in the playoffs period… suggs is all hype every scoring point guard in the league bust his ssa..and windell shows up when he wants…and the only thing worse than the coaching is the gm the gm sat around all yr knowing the players and coaches never were close to being on the same page and he didn't make any moves to change the coach
Agree with you. They chose non-shooters with prayers they'd improve – they didn't. They focused on defense, made an identity – worked. This year gutted by a Coach who wanted them now to become an offensive team, yet has at best an average offensive mind and little clue how (as you noted) to put key players in positions to score, go to their strengths. End the season. Retool. Will the Magic front office grow up, make business decisions to win or stick the idealistic happy family goal? Their track record not good.
