The 3 teams that I didn’t want to see were suns, clippers, and the knicks in the east. We don’t match up well with those teams. Bring on anyone else. If we lose to Denver then we learn and come back unstoppable next year.
Everything went wrong with the Spurs game against the Nuggets. Seems to me that the players went all out for a win but the coaching staff , intentionally it would seem did not make the obvious adjustments. Tim Legler noted this during the broadcast. Brings back memories of the rag tag team of amateur Laetner, Grant Hill, Chris Weber beating the Dream team of Jordan, Robinson, et al. Mitch Johnson kept on putting that small team without a center against the Nuggets with Valanciunas which they already proved in previous games did not work. Spurs also kept on going zone against the best 3 point shooting team in the NBA. I do not know if it was just me. But did Mitch intentionally threw that game to prove a point to his players?
Umm, I'm confused. Why do you think the defense from the blazers will be easier than the suns? Watch Drue be put on Wemby. Toumani, can hedge. The blazers are finally healthy and can be amazing on D.
Holding Kornet out was stupid. Luke needed experience against Joker and Plumlee played AWFUL

Did you guys actually talk to them, or is it an assumption and your own words and thoughts that this was a "must-win" game for them? You guys "think" the overconfidence was in this game, but I actually see the overconfidence being played out in the long game. Wemby has been gracefully trash talking and wants to END the MVP debate. Does he do that by ducking smoke or by taking out BOTH his MVP opps? You think they want an "easy path" narrative or "you only won because of's" hanging over an asterisk trophy for the next 20 years? Or is it better for them to go through BOTH these juggernauts and end all conversations. Not to mention Mitch was playing Biyombo (and the end of the bench) running whatever lineups he liked, SCOUTING, in your "must-win" game that Denver blatantly tried to hand them on a silver platter. And he ended the game with the biggest smile on his face. Because now Spurs get to face Nuggets after (IF) they limp away from the most physically imposing frontcourt in the NBA in the Timberwolves. Who, for whatever drug-related reason beyond me, everyone is writing off as the "easier" path. Timberwolves could just as easily scrap Spurs' or Nuggets' championship dreams.
No you're looking at it all wrong. Why are you afraid of the Nuggets or OKC? Wemby ain't afraid. We want the Spurs to face the Nuggets and OKC, so that when the Spurs win it all, nobody can say they had it easy and everyone will know that Wemby is the new GOAT. The new Michael Jordan of Basketball. Michael Jordan has been downgraded to Lebron James.
Neither the spurs nor the blazers have 8 players averaging double figures. The spurs were 5 Harrison Barnes points away from being the first team ever to do that.

He hasn’t played big minutes… because the Spurs have been blowing all teams out all season… over 20 pts toward end of games… no reason for him to play more than like 25-30 min…. They sit him because they did not need him for 3/4 of the season to play anymore… He is freaking 22 years old… he has the cardio and youth… im not worried about minutes.. he can play 48 if needed…
Let’s not forget the spurs have beaten the Thunder 4 out of 5 times this season… and have beaten every other top teams in the league… East or West… the Spurs have owned them all…
