Real Madrid locked up home-court advantage for the playoffs and a top 3 finish at the end of the regular season by downing Crvena Zvezda 103-82 in the Spanish capital. Real improved its record to 24-14 and will be second if Dubai Basketball beats Valencia Basket on Friday, and third if Valencia wins. Zvezda finishes with a 21-17 record and can be anywhere from seventh to 10th depending on Friday’s results. Luka Doncic, the 2018 EuroLeague champion, season MVP and Final Four MVP with Los Blancos, and tennis legend Novak Djokovic sat courtside at the game.

Mario Hezonja led the winners with 19 points. Facu Campazzo added 16 and 6 assists, Theo Maledon scored 12 while Usman Garuba and Andres Feliz each had 10 for Real, which had a 17-1 record and won its last 14 home games at Movistar Arena. Jordan Nwora paced Zvezda with 15 points. Chima Moneke added 14 while Jared Butler, Ognjen Dobric and Ebuka Izundu each had 10 for Zvezda. Real built a double-digit lead, 56-44, at halftime, extended it to 85-65 with over 7 minutes left and cruised to a very important home victory.
