from now on I will call Steph & Jimmy the 60 million men
Tired of simplistic and fanciful analyses: don't trade any picks, because the only proven way to win is three years of good, talented picks, developing them, and surrounding them with good veterans at a good price. For example: the Warriors with Curry, Green, Harrison, and Klay; the Spurs with Wembley, Hassel, Harper, and Castle; and OKC with Shai Williams, Chet, and Wallace.
Regardless of salaries and draft location the biggest move this off season which needs to be made now is let Kerr walk. The sooner the announcement the sooner we can move on!
Politics by Steve Kerr destroyed the Warriors
Draymond should have never insulted Durant and they should have never drafted Wiseman.
Butler and the 28 1st for Zion. Bring in Bron. It's a big swing but it could work. Curry, Podz, Zion, Bron, KP (bench rotation: GP2, Moody, Draymond, Horford/Bassey). Pelicans get huge cap relief from Jimmy's expiring contract and they also get a possibly VERY valuable draft pick.
Get barries from Arizona to help start the rebuild
First order of business, fire steve kerr… Then fire dumbleavy… use the 11th pick wisely… trade for some wing players and a solid center.
What doomed the Warriors dynasty
1. Not realizing Kerr’s flaws in player evaluation, rotations when you don’t have a stacked team, utter contempt and disinterest towards development of young players
2. Playing Steph too many minutes per game instead of preserving him. Still could have been cornerstone of entire offense without having run for what’s surely a NBA record(2-3 miles a game). Then compounding the issue by not tweaking the scheme where he’s not running 2-3 miles a game instead his late 30s. Even a young Steph in his prime only did that for 3 quarters because of their blowout games. Then acting like it’s bad luck or the injury bug that he has runner’s knee.
3. Not wanting to give young players leeway and room to grow.
Stalled development of TJD, Will Richard, etc. Santos, for example, after years of neglect, finally started getting attention. And that only happened because Stotts let him play the game Kerr got ejected.
Having a bunch of excuses: we don’t have time to focus on that because we’re trying to win championships, we don’t trust rookies, they make too many mistakes, Grown ups win Championships(Kerr qoute), etc etc etc.
But AFTER ALL THAT… making Brandon Podziemski the lone exception!? All the time, patience, leeway, and unshakable commitment to development Podz would’ve produced a better output spent on Kuminga. Even if it meant firing Kerr because he supposedly did fit “Kerr’s system”. At a bare minimum he would have been a more polished player and better trade asset and brought something back better than a broken KP.
Common denominator in all 3 is Steve Kerr. Shouldn’t recognize he was either overrated or washed 2-3 years ago.
The goal with Curry still playing is to build for the now, not the future. They need to trade and sell everything they can to build a strong veteran team that can compete with the likes of OKC now. They need 3 star players, size, athelticism and a deep bench, and they need to be healthy next year. If they cannot build such a team for the next 2 years, then it's time for a rebuild, unload the old assets and plan for Curry retiring in a few years. No one else on the team matters, Butler isn't the solution, just a piece and his injury may hold him back the rest of his career. Draymond becomes less valuable by the day, he's already not worth the salary he's earned, despite his defensive brilliance his lack of offense doesn't justify his salary anymore on such a team. If they can't add another piece next year to compete for a title while expecting Butler to come back healthy, then it's just another wasted year and they should unload everyone except Curry to build a new team. Taking a half assed approach is just a recipe to stay mediocre forever. That's never the goal. If they are just another 8-10 seed again with zero chance to beat a top team, it's a wasted year, these are former dynasty champions, barely making the playoffs is never the goal. At that point just trade away everything for the future and tank for a top pick or get someone like Giannis to build around.
Charisma of a wet paper towel. Sheesh
Heres how i look at it, the biggest mistake for the Dubs IMO was the two-timeline approach and doing it too early. When you have MF Steph Curry on your team still playinf at a high level you do everything possible to make him happy and if not then trade him. Free agent class is not that great this year and they're cap situation isnt going to make them major players outside of retaining their own players(Draymond, Porzingis, Melton). I would go all in for Giannis throw the kitchen sink at em and give Steph a real chance to compete for a 5th title. If Giannis doesnt happen i would bring back Draymond yes he had a down year, but hes still the heart and soul of the team and the numbers dont lie how important he is when he's on the court compared to off it. If Dray stays its likely for either to opt in or a new deal(as long as Steph stays) Next it's tough, but Porzingis given his size, skillset and ability he's probably more valuable then Melton despite his injury woes, but i would bring him back at no more than a 1, maybe 2 yr with an option at the NTML exception, plus they have to justify the Kuminga trade rather than losing him for nothing. Of course in doing this it's likely going to cost them Melton unless he take a smaller deal himself which is unlikely despite his own injury issues, and with Will Richard showing signs of being a rotation piece as a rookie it could mean losing Melt. Next as much as ppl may not likely it, but you have to extend Podz(unless hes traded) he played better down the stretch and he did play well in the play-in vs Phoenix maybe its enough to retain him a good number probably 3yr/45mm or 4/60 a lil higher than Moody and you're paying for upside bc Podz is still only 23 and what if that breakout happens next year similar to Gui did this year theyll wish they gave him that extension. Speaking of Santos getting him at a bargain extension was solid, he played great as a starter and hes certainly outplayed that contract and you have your starting SF till Jimmy comes back. Other than that bring back Payton amd Spencer at a vet min deals amd Bassey, Post, and Nate should be brought back at standard deals esp if they lose Porzingis, Horford or both and even if GSW retains them both you need insurance at C due to their injury history. GSW can do all this, plus depending on what happens with the #11 pick and get 1-2 solid free agents at a cheap price they could make a run at a top #6 seed especially once Butler and Moody come back healthy!!
Hello, I just want to ask, who could the Warriors possibly get in the upcoming draft? I mean considering the lottery odds, who's the best we can draft?
Bruh Warriors just need to wake up and give Steph away. Other teams will pay TOP dollar for him still. There’s no player that they can get that will make a difference. Not even Giannis.
they needed a young star to take the load off the old guys during the 82 game season
Still crazy that they choose Podz over anyone
Like It Or Not?? The Warriors Have To Trade/Cut Jimmy-Draymond To Get Any Better!!
This show is getting too fancy.
We could have use JK against JG better than Porzingis. Fire 🔥Kerr and trade podz.
I'm sorry Bobby, nobody cares what you think regarding the warriors future. If you have any good as a GM you still have a job wouldn't be working for ESPN. I don't want to thank you for your opinion, but I refuse to listen to it. ESPN is now the worst network in cable history was there Disney values and their lousy reporting from people who've never played the game
👀
Can we stop with Giannis talk. Bucks would be idiots to get back Draymond as the big piece. Aint NO loyalty that great 😂
Uhhhhhhhh buhbuhbuhbuh
The warriors just aren't a good team. That's the reality of it. They have no young talent. They have no good role players and there best guys are all old and washed. Curry is there best player and he's 38 gonna be 39 next march. Both Butler and Draymond are shells of themselves. That's just not a good roster or team and even when Curry and Butler were both healthy this season there peak was 8th in west and barely above 500. That was them at there best a team that still was a play in team. They need to embrace the future and the rebuild cause there is zero scenario there gonna be contending for a championship anytime soon. There's just way to many holes on there roster and stuff that just isn't worth trying to fix when your franchise guy is 38 and has maybe one or 2 more years left in the NBA.
They should sit down with curry and be real with him. They respect everything he's done for them and the championships and history he brought he's there best player in franchise history and all of that and they should give him 2 choices. Either choice 1 if you want to still compete and have a shot at another championship we will trade you to a team that will give you that shot ane try to accommodate you or choice 2 you decide you want to finish your career with warriors and be a lifelong warrior and in that case you help mentor and develop the young guys we draft in your final years and try to help us start our future post you. Cause they can't play in the middle of this anymore.
Could have had Tyrese Maxie or Debon Bane instead of Wiseman
I would blow up the roster and rebuild … Kerr will be gone along with Steph and Draymond and it will be a tough few years during rebuild. But look at OKC what the did and are well positioned for the future.
Draymond insulting Durant, punching poole, Kerr disrespecting klay and not playing kuminga are a few reasons the warriors are garbage. Kerr needs to be fired and the culture needs to change!
Dubs cant be trusted to draft right, they botched the JK situation, shoulda moved on from Draymond a while ago and honestly the cold hard truth with this apron era…trade Jimmy and picks. His age, contract aint gonna help Steph win. They also need perimeter defense. Stop getting older. Need to get younger (not tanking young but mid to late 20s young). Thats the only way. Otherwise Curry will never win
Bob Myers doomed this team with his picks
9:36 Stephon Curry
The Warriors are an injury-prone, aging team with serious salary cap problems and very little draft capital, and absolutely effed up the Wiseman pick. They should have never signed Butler, and should have traded Draymond for draft picks when they let Klay go. Steph will be 39 in 2027, Butler will be 37.
Stephenyahu shot tour dates in that PHX game improving his losing Play-In career record LMAO, in a season where it was revealed he invested millions of dollars in Israeli companies that aid the IDF
Just please move on from Green, Kerr and Giannis ,
I wish ESPN would take Bobby Mark's out of my algorithm
Brahhhh watching Curry with my Pops some many good memories… 30 has given th Bay so much joy to watch him ball
Warriors was done. This time need to rebuild young core. I want to get back j.poole
They could have had Haliburton. He landed in their laps.
I wish Mr. Marks would put this thoughts and charts together BEFORE he records the video.
The Warriors drafted Wiseman and Kuminga with the best picks they had. At one point, they had the chance to flip Klay's expiring, Kuminga and a first for Harden. They didn't do it. They were lucky to trade for Butler but he got hurt. Brutal.
I closed the video every time when he says bababababa
It's time to move on. I want the one young player who helped them win a chip back on the team. Jordan Poole!
People will say oh he's trash but we just got beat last night by a player who plays just like him in Jalen Green. We needed a microwave scorer last night AND the past 3 seasons since Poole has been gone.
Do y'all realize the last time the Warriors made the playoffs without having to get in through the play in was his last season on the team?
Fit is important. He wasn't a fit in Washington.
He wasn't a fit in NOLA (nobody is a fit there!) but he was a perfect for us and the only young player who gave Steph rest.
20ppg off the bench BUT 26ppg with 6ast when filled in for Steph over the course of two seasons and 43 games plus he won games WITHOUT STEPH!
HE FIT IN GOLDEN STATE!
Trade for Banchero. Or Giannis.
Get rid of kerr he dont understand fundamental basketball he just dont see the flaws of his players or there strengths its like he likes who he likes and just gonna play them in that system and thats all he knows..he the real bus rider who rode the backseat of every chip he got including when he played
What a mess!
Steve ain’t happy anymore bcus he actually has to coach now, the generational talents he inherited are now old and he actually has to try and develop young players, it’s not so easy anymore.
They are having the number 1st pick because Adam Silver can't allow GSW like that. He always looks for mean to compensate big team
The Butler trade was the wrong move. Added a fading star to a team of fading stars. Now you have half your salary cap taken by two players. Butlers contract is unmovable, and get nothing from him for a year.
