C'mon man, give Darko a break he hasn't watched a playoff game since 2023, he didn't know what to expect lol. Literally couldn't believe my ears when I heard Samson ask him that question about Rick Carlisle the other day and he said he doesn't watch once his team is out and didn't watch the playoffs at all last year. Whether he is bullshitting or not with that answer, that's an embarrassing thing to say as a head coach and makes me have way less confidence overall in the level of prep this team has.
Well they kept is close for 2 quarters …. they would have been blown out after 1 quarter vs NY ….SWEEEEEEP
@samsonfolk and ES and Tre kudos for posting comments, even if its devils advocate. And kudos for daring to go an expedition to sodom and gomorrah to risk ICE detention camps and cavity checks both ways, traversing the divide.
as the saying goes, dont hate the playa, hate the game. sometimes when you are wrong, you are right, and sometimes when you lose, you win.
also translating what Es was trying to say if the raptors win a game, it wont look like a good shooting night or like this game. what Es was trying to say was, for the raptors to win 1 game, its not in their control. for the raptors to win 1 games, the cavs have to shit the bed. for the cavs to sweep the raptors, they just have to play average, force the raptors into the half court and slow the game down. play zone and plug the paint. its not rocket science how to beat the raptors.
peace out.
This series for me is a make or break in terms of Darko, is he a playoff coach that can make adjustments or is he just a Developmental coach. This game showed the first point, needs to be much much better.
Playoff Harden too good in game one. gotta wait till later in series for him to show up and save the day (for the Raptors)
So I still don't think we've got much of a chance to win the series but today's game looked uncharacteristic of our strangely constructed team. We looked hesitant and a little lost at far too many points of the game. I'm going to chalk that up to playoff inexperience and hope that they're done with the jitters by Monday. I don't mind losing (Cleveland does have more talent after all) but I'd like to at least see the Raptors playing their type of game
🐐🐐
Time to trade Scottie
Based on our regular season performances.. This L was not a surprise.. Our team is mid and the East will be more competitive next season..
Serious trades need to happen.. This roster needs an overhaul.
It’s just so sad. I think the Cavs are much better than their record tho.
Game 1 really felt like we were scouting, and they were playing their game.
It feels like we sneak out of Cleveland with a split.
I think we may need to bench RJ early,
And play a lineup of
Jakob> Allen
CMB> Mobley
Scottie> Free safety
BI>Harden
Jakobe>DMict
This line up isn’t the best shooting but we will get stops and I pray BI is inspired to run and we will improve our transition and get some easy buckets. … at lease in my mind
Thanks guys, for going all the way to Ohio!
I don't buy the 3pt shooting narrative. We shot so well or whatever
We also scored 1 point in transition and flopped defensively while not taking advantage of Barnes /Bi mismatches for the most part.
RJ open court turn overs killed us. He needs to have a plan when he puts the ball on the floor. BI needs to touch the ball in the second half. We did a good job of preventing the lob for the most part. Too many straight line drives. Can Max Strus replicate that game?
Darko needs to bench Yak. But I don’t think he will.
We have a couple of consistent issues that cause Raptors to lose games.
1. Scottie not playing his best game all 4 periods, in most games.
2. Darko insists on playing Poetl knowing he is compromised with a bad back and can’t shoot from the distance.
