We have nobody to pull wemby off of Deni's 2nd line of defense. Deni wouldn't be able to sustain what he did yesterday without that 2nd guy, so we were even lucky to not be beaten even harder.

As a Spurs fan; I really dig Deni. Really great player. Blazers were very competitive but honestly, I just don't think the Blazers have enough depth overall compared to what Spurs have. Having said that, Spurs need the rookie, Harper to shake off that game. This is a great series overall.
On a side note, this Spurs fan roots for Portland… When they're not playing the Spurs

The blazers continued to pass on going to the hole with every kornet shift…and with luke consistently getting position or abusing us at the rim was agonizing
Imagine a playoff game where 3rd year scoot outperforms both playoff vet jerami grant and jrue? Absolute cinema. Way to prepare guys.
WTF is the new owner doing? Not bringing the 2-way players on the road and apparently wont be on the bench at home is a punk ass move. This is starting off really bad and looks to get worse. Does he really want to keep the team here? Seems like he's doing a great job of pissing everybody off. I guess all the experience of screwing over folks with scalper loans of high interest rates and bad terms will come in handy… Go Blazers or Gone Blazers?
Couple of things other than the obvious that Deni needs more help.
1. I don’t know how you can say that Clingan was fine he was a complete burden on defense and a no show on offense, clearly.
2. The blazers were ok on defense but I think they can step up their physicality on Wemby a bit. I love DC but he doesn’t play his size most of the time he is a huge huge mountain of a man and sometimes it doesn’t look like he knows it ?

You were totally correct Mike, the non Wemby minutes were the game key. Luke Kornet ate the blazers up just with motor and Devin Vassel brought energy.
Going into ther game I thought the Spurs were unbeatable. Afterwards I have changed that view. I think you have to more physical with Wemby and shoot better. Easier said than done on being physical but that is the only Wemby weakness I see. Toumani has lost his shot the past few games and JG was non existent. Scott was decent and the moment didn't seem too big for him.
Aggressive Shaedon would help.
I feel bad for your fanbase. You’ve got a cheapskate owner who won’t just pay Billups to leave, only offering Tiago 1.5 million. He’s nickel-and-diming hotel stays and charter flights. Doesn’t look great, guys. Oh well, keep Portland weird.
Blazers looked scared to attack wemby and I get that, but imo, they need to force the point at the rim. Make wemby work, constantly involve him in action. Is he gonna get some blocks? Absolutely. But maybe he also picks up a few fouls and gets tired because of the constant movement
Heard a lot about Donovan “tough matchup for him” and it seems like there are a lot of tough matchups for him. So what’s the solution? He is a starting center so he has to play. If not should the team try to find a new center that can move and score better than Donovan? He left me wanting for not able to finish at the rim so often. Fumbled the ball a lot.
The Spurs have shown who they are. Not much more to them.
The Blazers on the other hand have alot they can improve on. The Spurs are definitely not comfortable when you get physical with them.

as a spurs fan, i say this,, we didn't play well too. that was a very shaky game from my spurs. even wemby didn't play well tbh, too many turnovers, only 5 rebounds, only 1 assist. harper and keldon played horrible. but we still won. don't expect this to be the same in game 2. blazers let 1 slip, and i don't think they'll get another chance as better as last game.
second half, spurs found out how to play deni, he couldn't score driving to the basket anymore, i don't know what adjustments the blazers have to make to make this series better. saying they should just shoot better is a tough ask, spurs are a top 5 defensive team for a reason, the series is a low scoring series.
Funny blazers are facing Victor they tanked trying to get him of he lands with Spurs which was obviously going to happen.
Blazers make playoffs and are going to get sent home by him.

On paper this team has 3-4 catch and shoot players, but they're missing too many shots and they're never consistent. With Dame Deni would average 10 assists and we'll have a chance of winning these games
There has to be big changes this summer to start building around Deni. Don’t make the same mistakes of the dame era thinking internal development is a path forward.
The spurs miss 4 more threes and the blazers make 4 more and blazers probably win
If they shoot 5% worse from 3 (40%), and we shoot 5% better (31%), we could easily steal a game.
