So, you can complain about “the rules”. But if you do, the logical question that follows is…what should they be?
In the end, the game must be able to be officiated on objective terms. You can’t make foul calls on anything subjective.
Thus, is their arm contact? What is the arm position of the defender? Is it vertical or not? On and on…
The rules of the game are currently written to minimize the most chaos and subjectivity attributed to the officials.
There ought to be a requirement that if you whine about the rules, offer an alternative. Let that alternative be debated.
I’m skeptical that any modifications to league rules would do anything other than contribute to the uproar by fans.
Shai is just a master of playing the game to exploit the rules! Rules that allow something closer to objectivity in officiating.
Most of the whining is sour grapes by fans of other teams.
Offer something up Jason. Let us debate the merits of whatever adjustments to the rules you or any other fan wants to proffer.
Pretty confident there won’t be a suggestion that on balance results in an objective improvement.
Shai wasn’t grifting. A foul is a foul…
Honest question. I see Shai more as a point guard (or combo guard if that’s the right term here). I see a lot of people call him a 2 guard. I understand why but I feel like his ability to play make goes beyond what a 2 guard does. Feels like Steph where their main job is to score but they do create so much for their team that their scoring actually helps them be great pgs. Shai is also the main initiator for the team. Is this just semantics or is there a genuine difference you see between Shai and other PGs
the foui baiting is honestly impressive. takes a lot of talent
OKC getting the one seed and the four five teams sucking really ruins the NBA. The Spurs and Nuggets are going to beat each other up and then OKC will have significant rest to make them long series. I kind of think the Celtics have the best shot at this point.
However effective it is, I don’t enjoy his type of basketball. He’s so good at getting calls it feels like he’s playing to get the call rather than to get the bucket. I don’t like watching people shoot free throws.
THE BIGGEST THUNDER HATER ON YOUTUBE ‼️ hoops tonight
Shai actually gets fouled
I have a feeling that after this playoff run, the Thunder will have permanently silenced the doubters.
Y'all sga haters delusional all clear fouls no baiting wth do y'all be watching
I'd be curious to know what teams Thunder fans think have the potential (not likelihood) of beating their team in a series? Like considering both teams are at full health.
I appreciate the nuance in your discussion of SGA (league-wide rules issue). Everyone tries to sell calls. I try to sell calls in my very unimportant men’s league haha some guys are extremely good at manipulating defense and exploiting rules. Change the rules to get it out of the game.
They look better. Relying on Wiggins last year was a rollercoaster ride. Now, they got a more reliable Mitchell off the bench.
