Are the Cleveland Cavaliers with James Harden the POINT GOD too much for opposing teams to overcome?
The Cleveland Cavaliers look like a completely different team with James Harden running the show — and through the first two playoff games, you can see exactly why. The pace feels controlled, the offense looks organized, and most importantly, the Cavs aren’t wasting possessions. Harden has brought that “point god” feel to Cleveland — manipulating defenses, getting guys into the right spots, and making the game look slower than it actually is.
What stands out is how it’s impacting everyone else. Donovan Mitchell doesn’t have to force offense the same way, the bigs are getting cleaner looks, and the role players are benefiting from more structured opportunities. In those first two playoff games, Cleveland hasn’t just been scoring — they’ve been dictating how the game is played. That’s a dangerous shift, especially in a playoff series where adjustments matter.
But here’s the question — is it too much for opponents to overcome, or just the beginning of a chess match? Because as dominant as it’s looked early, playoff basketball is about counters. Can teams speed Harden up? Can they take away his passing angles? Or is Cleveland now in a position where they can control every series through tempo and decision-making?

Garland was a detriment in the playoffs. KD said people hunt him and he wasn't lying 🙄
See the Cavs been trying to force garland for years even before Mitchell even got there and it showed that the small guard play won’t work in this modern nba. Cause most of the guards in the league are bigger then garland you seen what happens to Tre young in ATL it wasn’t going to get the far and they shipped him off now ATL is in the playoffs this year and giving the Knick’s problems with CJ garland was holding the Cavs back period
There's a lot of talk about Darius Garland's toe, but his deficiencies were there even before the injury. He's undersized and gets exposed in playoff basketball.
I love how the Cavs media (Jayson) can never stay positive… They must always find fault. So sick of this dude.
That 90s Cavs jacket g bush have on is fire 🔥 Ricky Davis d miles Lamond Murray tickets was cheap and hella dunks can’t forget Dejuan Wagner either go Cavs
I didn't know just how much of a liability DG was on the team because of his size…..until we got James Harden who is constantly presented as a horrible defender, and he makes us better on the defensive end. It's not just DG. You just can't have Mitchell and DG in your starting 5. You can't have 2 undersized guards back there.
