The NBA Player Who Killed An Entire Franchise πŸ’€πŸŸ’

Most rookies dream of being a top-three pick. For Steve Francis, it was a “death sentence.” πŸ’€ πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

In 1999, the Vancouver Grizzlies used their #2 pick on “The Franchise,” but he refused to even cross the border. From citing “God’s Will” to complaining about Canadian taxes, his boycott didn’t just force a tradeβ€”it eventually helped kill NBA basketball in Vancouver for good.

  1. I’m from Vancouver and my dad used to go to games he still has a pair of Bryant β€œbig country” reeves shoes also he said games were so empty you could get a few rows away from court side and nobody would tell you to move seats later

  2. To be honest, as a european, a system where a player is forced to play somewhere where he doesn't want to play sounds kinda weird.
