Interesting very talented pick. But yeah, not a good fit here. If there is a grouping of potential in the 5-10 range maybe trade back a few picks if he is exactly what another team is needing. Just hoping we can land in top 4!
i would very much prefer wagler or peterson if were taking a guard tbh. hell even burries would be a better pick. defense or size is what we need most
Man I hate leif moniton voice hard to listen to he needs someone to lead show to have him play of
No. He's about the only guy in the top 8 I don't want. We already have a smallish guard that isn't a good defender, we don't need another one. If we land from 5-8, I'd take Burries, Wagler, or flemings.
Jazz cannot afford to have a player that does not play defense.
To me Acuff just seems like one of those guys who will look like an all star statisticly on bad teams. His defense is just too problematic to ever work on a contender, he also doesn't have the size or athleticism to ever be a plus defender.
If we draft acuff I don’t think we resign keyonte unfortunately. Doesn’t make sense to have both players
Acuff is the truth.
Is there a player in this draft with the same skill set as Deron Williams out of college? I was looking at Brown Jr, and I thought his body and size better fit that role than Acuff, and he basically had the same assist totals that Deron had but played more off ball.
I woldn't take Acuff – he's the new Trae Young, great on offense, so bad on D that you can't win. People tend to fall in love with scoring in the NBA but you CAN'T win. People need to stop thinking they can coach or fix this level of bad defense. You can't. And the Jazz already have a lot of poor defenders. Acuff would be a major failure for the goal of a championship. Championship players have to be good on both sides of the ball (or at least not a disaster on one side). On a championship-level team, Acuff is going to be a sixth man. I'd take Flemmings, Philon, Lendeborg, Wagler, or Burries, before Acuff. Maybe even Ament.
Please no. These types of guards ceiling is usually out in the second round. I think as Jazz fans we want deep playoff runs. Not flashy regular season stats.
I don’t know if Darius Acuff Jr. is “sun centered,” but like Ja Morrant (27.4ppg) and Trae Young (29.6ppg), may end up being just another 6 footer with no trade value at 27 yrs old.
I don't love Acuff but having a better version of Keyonte is not a bad thing. You can hide him on defense like we are going to have to do with key. He literally can't be worse than Keyonte at defense and he's got more tools than him on offense. You gotta go talent>fit.
