How the Miami Heat Can Build a CONTENDER Around Bam Adebayo

2. Trading Herro at this stage of his career feels natural and beneficial for both sides. They’ll make his tribute video and thank him for his years with the team. But that doesn’t change the concern—and the reality that everyone seems to avoid—about Bam Adebayo: he’s not a full max-contract player. He’s not a superstar, he can’t carry a team to a championship, and he has fewer years left in his career. Miami’s vision is concerning.

3. You have to find 2 players that are better than him, to start. At least 1, with the other being in his tier. Ideally you drop his shot total to about 10/pg, mostly on 3s and lobs/cuts cause his midrange is not efficient.

   You couldn’t ask for a more complementary center than Ware. A rim protecting, rebounding, legit 3 point shooter (cause Bam is still kind of meh at 3s).

   And since neither Bam or Ware can handle, you would need a 2-way wing that’s at least 6’7” who can handle, hit 3’s and self-create.

   You also need two 2-way guards that can play on and off ball to some degree, because that’s what every contender needs. Ideally they are at least 6’4”

6. Bam is a great 3rd option on a contender but he’s not anywhere close to a superstar player. Last year he was one of the bottom 3 players in the league for his position in efficiency and he took the most shots on the team. That’s not a winning formula
