  2. Having a lottery is so dumb and it has always been dumb. The NFL structure is the best all over. Even rewarding division winners in playoffs is the correct way to go.

  3. The NBA could simply stop the slotted pick nonsense and giving the teams who lose more games a higher % chance of a top pick in the lottery. Give everyone who doesn't get the benefit of hosting home playoff games, the same chance at every pick in the lottery.

  4. What has he really built? He bought other team's players. Overall he's built a 37ish team for years. He bought Shag, Wade, LeBaby, Bulter all players were the only reason they weren't a 35-win team. When he can get players from other teams Riley has built and won nothing. If he was a GM anywhere else he'd have been fired long ago. Unless he can buy other teams from other teams going forward, they are going to be a 35-win teams. Just like they have been. If Riley can't spend money on players, he builds nothing. Great teams cores are usually drafted. The showtime Lakers core were all draft picks. People seem to forget that. Great teams more times than not core are home grow. OKC traded for SGA but the core are draft picks. Without the core OKC wins nothing.

  5. I get it….Miami went out and got Shaq to pair with DWade…..they bought LBJ and Bosh into the fold on BIG moves to create star laden teams….BUT….I don't get the Giannis hype…..SERIOUSLY….1. He's NOT 25 coming off his rookie contract ….he's 31?! (And the list of injuries is getting extensive)…..he's NOT Dirk (can't post up, shoot outside and DEFINITELY can't shoot his free throws)….so WHY (if you're Pat Riley) …would you MOVE HEAVEN AND EARTH (and meet Milwaukee's EXHORBITANT asking price for "the face of their franchise ")?🤔 when you're NOT gonna get 70 games/playoffs and get the versatile WEAPON on both ends of the floor worth $50m per🤔

    Jimmy Buckets didnt have Giannis' star power but he had the killer mindset that 1. Giannis is wishy washy about now… 2. Was a perfect fit to LEAD Riley's "culture"

    Along with Butler, they found the Max Strus' and Gabe Vincents that nobody found….if Riley KEEPS doing that and STICKS to that (similar to how Orlando is B*tchslapping Detroit in round 1…..OUTWORKING em)…in a WEAK east i may add…Miami will be fine….

  6. Right now the draft if you are unlucky doesn't make you better. The draft has to let you get better. The team then tank less. When you take the Jazz who seems to be tanking for 5+ years? Why? They got unlucky drawing the draft. The worst team the NBA picks 8, 9, 10. The Spurs a good team. Picks 1, 2, 2. It's why the draft doesn't work. Based it on record. Let a team get better drafting. Don't let team protect a pick. That's stupid. Here a pick but if it's good, I get it. No. You traded it away. You want it don't trade it. NBA for 75% on the league is dead. Why? The draft the way it works is now total luck. If you are unlucky, you are dead. Had OKC been as lucky as the Spurs. OKC would be insane. They've been unluckily. The Spurs have been very lucky. The Jazz and Washington have been brutally unlucky. The draft is a way to get better. Yet the NBA is doing everything in its power to stop bad teams from getting better. Then add in the new cap. Good luck. The NBA is getting actually what they have built because they are stopping teams from getting better through the draft. The NFL works better you can get better drafting. When you trade a pick it's your pick not someone else's. NBA needs that in the worst way.

  7. How can a city like DC NOT attract free agents? How have they been that bad for so long? They've had decent teams with Wall and Beal but those days are gone. How long have they been tanking and they still suck? They've gotten some good players. But, just this past trade season, they picked up AD and Trae. That immediately BOOSTS that squad. Even if you're a bad team, you need to make moves. I know that there are some cities taht aren't sexy, but the F.O. need to make moves in addition to drafting well.
